STORY TIME One of the favorite parts of playschool for the youngsters is the time for story-telling. Mrs. Gene Byrnes is shown here reading a story to a group of 5-year-olds. There are still eight spots open at the playschool for pre-schoolers. Interested parents may enroll their children through the city Park and Recreation Department. Goldwater, R.-Ariz., urged fel low Republicans Wednesday night to direct their anger toward the New Frontier "rather than chew on members of your own party." Goldwater, speaking to a friendly audience that included Illinois' top Republicans, pleaded for unity against President Ken nedy and what the senator called "a 'daddy knows best' attitude to ward the American people." The speech, delivered before the National Federation of Re publican Women, marked a key appearance by Goldwater during nis current cross-country swing. Gubernatorial candidates Charles H. Percy, who was chair- man of the IMP Republican plat- Mahlon Merrick, music director for "The Jack Benny Program" on the CBS Television Network, has been on the comedian's staff for 28 years. form committee, and Hayes Rob ertson, Cook County GOP chair man, were in attendance. They were nut present last weekend when New York Gov. Nelson A. Rockefeller and his wife, Happy, went to a fair at Oregon, 111. In his speech, Goldwater did not mention Rockefeller by name or refer explicitly to the Rocke feller attack recently on the "rad ical right" of t h e Republican parly. "I would remind you that there are many New Frontiersmen to direct your anger toward rather than chewing on members of your own party," Goldwater said. Goldwater, who along with Rockefeller is expected to be a top contender for the presidential nomination next year, refused to be labeled. "I am a Republican, pure and I hope not too simple," Goldwater said. "I accept that designation WASHINGTON (UPD-The first indication of congressional anger at the Ngo Dinh Diem govern ment's action against the Bud dhists came today when a resolu tion was offered in the Senate urging that all U.S. aid to South Vict Nam be cut off. Sen. Search Pressed For Tots MINNEAPOLIS. Minn. (UPP A, grim, unemployed stepfather, a gun strapped to his side, joined in another house-to-house search of a tenement district today for two little .playmates missing and feared kidnaped. As Melvin Leverett, authorities and volunteers pressed their search, there were few new clues into the five-day disappearance of his stepdaughter, Melissa Ann Lee, 5, and her friend, Barbara Ann Foshaug. 4.
