But even before Dial, Toastmistress clubs had been organized by women who wanted the opportu nity to develop poise and selfi confidence. So the program of fered by the Toaastmistress Club has evolved to meet a variety of needs. Practice in making extempora neous and prepared speeches helps the person who speaks to a large group as well as the per son who leads a small group such as a Cub .Scout den. Developing a larger vocabulary and use of correct grammar makes for a more interesting con versationalist. Learning to com municate more effectively is of value to everyone. Acquiring a working knowledge of parliamentary procedure helps not only a presiding officer bul also equips a person to effective ly aid the processing of business at a meeting. Personal grooming is of prime mportance tn women today, so Toastmistress education has c.v tended to cover etiquette. Rioom ing and protocol. A Toastmistress Club is a prac tice field where a member re ceives constructive evaluation so that she knows what she needs to improve. Ewauna Toastmistress Club is a youngster in the international organization-just five years old. But its members arc as enthusi astic about the benefits of Toast mistress training as those of the first club. Members' occupations include homemakcr, salesperson, doctor, teacher, an illustration that Toastmistress training can benefit women in all situations. The public is invited to attend Ewauna's first meeting of the fall, Sept. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Lhc Winema Hotel. PERSONALIZED WRITING KIT Poonoliiod Writing Klt(i). 01.00 lor each Kit). Pleaie lend mo.
