Mas First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy was in (lie starting stase today of a long convalescence that will keep her out of the official White House limelight until early next year. The President's 34-ycar-old wife left the Otis Air Force Base Hos pital Wednesday in "very talis facto'y" condition. She had spent a week there during which her third child, Patrick Bouvier Ken nedy, was born and died less than two days later. Mrs. Kennedy had undergone her fourth Caesarean, and al thougn weak and wan looking she walked out of the hospital hand in hand with the President. She smiled and seemed happy to be going home to Squaw Island and her children, Caroline, nearly 6, and John Jr., almost 3. Mrs. Kennedy is on the road lo recovery, but her obstetrician. Dr. John YV. Walsh of Washing ton, ordered her to cut out all official activities for five months "in order to insure her complete rehabilitation and continuing good health." Starting in mid-September the First Family is expected to spend several weeks at Hammersmith Farm, the Newport, R. I. home of Mrs. Kennedy's stepfather and mother, Mrs. Hugh D. Auchin-closs. Bomb Denied Red Chinese TOKYO (UPI) Red China charged today that Russia once agreed to help the Peking regime make atomic bombs but later re neged on the promise. The charge broadcast by the of ficial Peking Radio was believed to be the first time the Chinese Communists publicly have made such an accusation against the Kremlin. The government statement said Soviet Premier Nikita Khrush chev apparently scrapped the bomb agreement as a gift to then President Eisenhower during the Russian leader's visit to the Unit ed States in 195fl. The Chinese again denounced the Moscow treaty under which Russia, Britain and the United Stales agreed to ban nuclear tests in the atmosphere, in outer space and under water. The Chi nese consider the treaty a Soviet surrender to Western "imperial ism" in communism's struggle to dominate the world. The Kremlin's failure lo help the Communist Chinese acquire nuclear weapons is one of the causes of the deepening rift be tween Moscow and Peking. It is linked to the basic dispute over Khrushchev's policy of peaceful coexistence. Khrushchev believes Uiat com munism will win out over West ern capitalism through peaceful competition. Queen Wary Lou 'Mapcs of Alturas and her princesses, Kclle Siglcr, Alturas. and Diana Steven son, Surprise Valley, will ride in the parade Saturday morning and be honored guests at the ro deo Saturday afternoon. The royal trio will be advertis ing the Modoc County Fair to be held Aug. 23. 24 and 23 at Cedar ville. Calif. They will appear at all the arena events at the Mo doc County Fair and lead the spectacular parade through Cc darville to the fairgrounds Sun day. Aug. 25. The young beauties will also ride in the parade and be honored guests at the Lakeview, Ore., fair the las', of August. IS and children are spending a few days on the coast. MR. AND MRS. LAWRENCE CLARK ' have had as recent guests, Clark's cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Clark from Illinois. MRS. BOB WALKER and daughter Beverly are in Portland making arrangements for the com ing school term. MALLS' MR. AND MRS. GEORGE BROWNING and son Johnny spent several days vacationing along the coast. They visited in Astoria and Newport. LOUISE HALEY of Memphis, Tcnn., was a recent guest of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brown. ROLAND HARMON and Rich-' aid Kriiger recently accepted work in Sacramento. JANET STKUNK of Union, Ore., was a guest of Diana O'Riley, and also visited her brother, Wayne Hamblet. JOHN GREENE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Greene, is recuperating at home, after returning from the hospital where he spent several days in traction. He was injured while water skiing. MR. AND MRS. LINCOLN ELZNER are the parents of a baby girl Jean Marie, born Aug. 7, weighing 8 lbs., 8'i ozs. Grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. Joe lllian and Mr. and Mrs. Frank El.ncr. ATLANTA iLPIi-Cocky Mick ey Cohen, who sneered at gang sters' bumbs and bullets, lay in a prison hospital today with a fractured skull, the victim of a touchy forger from South Caro lina. A neurosurgeon said "48 hours will tell the tale" of the effect the bloody beating will have on the West Coast mobster. Officials at Atlanta Federal , Prison said Cohen, serving 15 years for income tax evasion, was "progressing very satisfac torily" and would live. The neu rosurgeon had to operate Wednes-! day to relieve the pressure on , Cohen's brain shortly after a fel low inmate hit him on the head three limes with a three-foot length of pipe.
