M, By ANN LANDERS Dear Ann Landers: Last week our 17-ycar-old son came down w ith a skin rash so we sent him i to a doctor. oary is sup posed to gu back to the doc tor tomorrow but he refuses I Finally my hus band cot the reason out of I him. The nurse stayed in the exam ination room the whole time and Gary said he had never been so embarrassed in all his life. Then the doctor left the room and told the nurse to cive the boy a lamp treatment. Gary said he would not eo through that nor rible experience again even if the skin rash kills him. 1 want to call the doctor and ask him to please fiive Gary the lamp treatment himself and keep the nurse out. My husband insists the doctor will think I am crazy. He says the doctor hired the nurse to do these things and we should insist that Gary go back whether he likes it or not. VV both want your opinion A hOUSE DIVIDED Dear Divided House: By all means insist that Gary go back to the doctor, not only to clear up the rash, but also to get rid of the crippling notions he has about his body. He should understand there is nothing shameful or evil in rc reiving medical treatment from a member of the opposite sex. A nurse is no more emotionally in volved with her patients than a garage mechanic is with his cars. It is understandable that Gary might be ill at ease the first time, but to refuse to return is childish and he should not be allnwed to get away with it. Dear Ann Landers: If you are good sport you will answer all these questions in the paper. I'm betting my wife a new hat you'll come through. Garvey was sentenced Wednesday to six months in coun ty jail for writing and passing at least eight worthless checks in this area.
