Samples, who has been princi pal of Chiloquin High School for lie past four years, replaces James Conroy, who becomes su pervisor of secondary education for the county school system. Meanwhile, teaching assign ments at the school have been announced. Larry Lund of Bonanza will teach science and Tom Roe will become basketball coach and sev enth and eighth grade instructor. Roe, coming from Kairhaven School, replaces Dwayne Daley, who w ill teach sixth grade class es and serve as assistant coach. Other teaching assignments: Andy Travis, math, football coach; Charles Dobry. social science, band; Don London, Eng lish, libary; James Lacy, voca tional agriculture, science; Mrs. Frank Paygr, home living; Mrs. Philip Blohm, commercial, physi cal education; Mrs. Emil Tofell, English, French; and Mrs. T. W. Lowry, music. Emil Tofell is constructing a barbeuce and patio near the high school, which will be used for cookouts by the home living classes. Merrill Schools See Few Changes MERRILL - On Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 9 a.m., school will begin again for another vear. Ev erything will be much the same with few changes made. Calvin Dauel will be the only new teacher at the high school. He will teach math and science. He is not married and comes to Merrill rom the University of Denver. This will be his first year of teaching. Clarence Hill has been trans ferred to Merrill Irom Klamath Falls and will teach in the ele mentary grades. Melvin Brooks is transferring to B!y to be the principal there. The high school will have an enrollment of 140 youngsters from the ninth grade through the 12th. The elementary school will have an expected 240 children. The largest class will be the fresh man class with 43 enrolled. There will be nine teachers in Elementary Plans Noted MALIN Enrollment in Malin Elementary School will average 0-U5 students this year, ac cording to Principal Stanley Mc- Clellan. Mrs. Homer Hill will teach first grade students at the school and a new teacher, Sharon Wil liamson, will handle second grade. Miss Williamson comes from South Dakota. Third grade will be taught by Mrs. Rudolph Kelinek and Mrs. Lloyd Mock will have the fourth grade. Fifth grade teacher will be Mrs. J. F. McHenry and Dwayne Daley will teach sixth graders. Mrs. T. W. Lowry will leach music. Malin School Parent and Pa tron officers for the coming year were elected last spring. They are Mrs. Bob Victorin, president; Mrs. Merle Woodley. vice presi dent; Mrs. Earl Irvine Jr., sec retary, and Mrs. Jtmes Conroy. treasurer. The Parents and Patrons this year are sponsoring a kindergar ten, with an expected enrollment of 20 children. Children must be 5 years old by Nov. 15 to be eligi ble. The kindergarten will be con ducted Monday through Thurs day, 9-11:30 a.m. There will be a $5 registration fee per child and a charge of $10 per monlh per student. Mrs. Fred Gordon will be m charge of the school. Parents wishing to enroll chil dren in the kindergarten may contact Stanley McClcllan, Mrs. Anton Suty Jr. or Mrs. Earl Ir vine. the high school and 10 teachers at the elementary. The grade school teachers are as follows: First grade. Mrs. MacAnulty and Mrs Christenson; second, Mrs. Kurtz and Mrs. West; third, Mrs. Kaf ton; fourth, Mrs. Crawford; Fifth, Mrs. Retterath; sixth, Mrs Lee; seventh, Clarence Hill, and eighth, Mrs. Groeneveld. This year's curriculum will be the same as last year's with no new subjects added. Wow! Look at this Special from darters side's 527 Main Sept. 4 Date For Paisley PAISLEY The Paisley School will open its doors to students for the fall term Sept. 4 with 120 expected to enroll in grades uie to 12. The highest enrollment is ex pected in the seventh and eighth tirades. The school's cafeteria has been relocated in the basement, pro viding space for another class room to case the burden on the lii.ah school. Harold K. Crocker, Paisley school principal, will serve in that capacity as he has for the past live years, and will also leach high school classes. Other high school teachers are Lloyd Show ers and Keith Showers. Two new teachers will join the school's faculty this year, i Mrs. Esther Koch, who is work ing on her master's degree, will teach English, journalism and girls' physical education, j Carolina Schlalman, who has a ! number of years' experience in Oregon high schools, will teach commercial subjects and will be in charge of the school library, School Thanks MOUNT SHASTA Carl P. Ho- berg, superintendent of Siskiyou Union High School District, ex pressed deep appreciation to two automobile dealers of Klamath Kalis, who supplied the Siskivou School District wtih cars for use in driver training, with no cost lo the taxpayers of the district. The dealers are Dugan and Mest Chevrolet, and Thomas Dodge Sales.
