The body was trussed with light brass colored wire and weighted with two assayer's crucible moulds, identified as a type used frequently 30 years aao. The moulds are Lwn hers tr,r.rit; r. Woman's xpsasns CHICAGO (UPH - In five short weeks, life fell apart for Mary Jane Dunlap. Her husband, Lawrence, a Chi' cago traffic policeman, died June .20. A few days later, her father died, and Mrs. Dunlap, 39. made the long trip to Southern Illinois for his funeral. Then she had a miscarriage. That was especially hard for her because although her husband had four children by a previous marriage they did not have any of their own. But doctors found that hers ji-was a psychosomatic pregnancy. JShe really wasn't pregnant at all. MRS. Authorities released her on her own recognizance, pending a mental examination, and sched uled a hearing for next Thursday. Thursday, Mrs. Dunlap went to Truck Strike End Reported DENVER (UPD-A strike by a Denver Teamsters local against Consolidated Freightways Inc. in live maior western ewes uas been settled, according to Consoli dated. The company said Thursday "all issues" had been resolved in a dispute between the local and the huge trucking company over the use of a four non-union drivers by a Consolidated subcontractor. The strike began last week in Denver and spread to Salt Lake City, Portland, Los Angeles and San Francisco. It was halted temporarily by a restraining order issued by U.S. Dist. Judge Hatfield Chilson in Denver. Chilson had set today for a hearing on a request by the Na tional Labor Relations Board for a preliminary injunction, but can celled it when the company re ported the dispute settled. Alaska Police Seeking Driver Police in Achorage, Alaska, have sought assistance from the Klamath Falls Police Department in locating Elmer Bean, formerly of 630 Pine Street, who is wanted in connection with the investiga tion of a hit-and-run accident which occurred in the Alaska city last May. Anchorage police said that the car involved in the accident was registered to Bean. TU l-nllll Police Seek Boy Identity MEDFORD UPI - Jackson County authorities today planned to study aerial photographs of Kecne Creek Reservoir to deter mine if divers should be sent back to look for clues in the death of a small boy. The body of the unidentified two-year-old boy was found in the reservoir 12 miles east of Ashland July 11 by a fisherman. Kour divers, each held bv a 40- foot rope, entered the turbulent water one at a time Wednesday in an unsuccessful three - hour search for evidence that might solve the mystery. Water pours into the reservoir at an estimated 50 miles per hour and goes out over a 79-foot high dam, making it treacherous for diving opera tions. County officials hoped to learn from the photographs if they had overlooked any areas which might hold a clue. Trails Good Says Ranger According to Bud Twombly, Klamath District Ranger on the Winema National Forest, trails on the district are free of snow and in good condition. It is anticipated that crews will be working on the trails throughout the summer and they should remain in good condi tion. Fishing is reported good in the Sky Lakes area, and fair at Lake of the Woods. All camp grounds are open in the Lake of j the Woods area with the excep tion of Aspen, where improvement construction is progressing. The Fish Lake-Lake of the Woods road is very rough due to construction work. All roads on the Chiloquin Dis trict arc passable. Many of the roads are dusty and carrying log ging traffic, and it is recommend ed that forest visitors drive care fully. Williamson Campground is receiving heavy use. Fishing near the campground is reported good, as is fly fishing on (he Svcan River. Fire danger is increasing and National Forest visitors are re- while traveling in timber, brush, minded that smoking is prohibited or grass areas except while in ve hicles on roads. AF Officer. A criminal court judge earlier had sentenced five demonstrators charged with disorderly conduct to sentences of 30 to 60 days. Judge T. Vincent Quinn accused the group of "taking the law into your own hands." Police arrested 23 youths, in cluding 17 Negroes, Thursday at Seattle, Wash., to break up a four-day sit-in at City Hall. The demonstration sought more Ne gro representation on a new hu man rights commission, named to consider racial problems. Around 115 Negroes marched in Police Give On Brattle Bible Action The United Missionary Army, Inc., consisting of two Negro1 brothers, is in the Klamath Falls1 area this week to solicit funds or1 the purchase of braille Bibles for the blind, but thus far it has not purchased any of the Bibles, a rep- esenlative of the corporation told the Klamath Falls police 'Jhurs- day. The activities of the group were made knuwn to the local police by the Klamath Falls Fire Depart- mcnt whidl was the onject f a solicitation by a member of the "army." Because the group was incor porated as a religious organization it is not required to obtain a busi ness license to solicit funds in LKlumalh Falls, police said. The United Missionary Army was incorporated in this state on July 5, 1963, and operates from Portland. It is headed by J o h n Grant, 25, and his brother, Con nie, according to Detective Ser geant Dennis Lilly of the KF po lice. . At Los Angeles, about 50 per sons marched through the educa tion board building to protest school segregation. Officers ar rested 10 pickets, including a white minister, during a noisy sit-in demonstration at a diner in North Bcrgin, N.J. A group of around 75 Negroes paraded through Farmville, Va., Thursday in the first such anti segregation demonstration since Prince Edward County aban doned its public school system to avoid integration in 1959. Mitchell, whose crack down on what he called relief ehiselers sparked the biggest pub lic welfare debate in 30 years, has changed his mind about join ing the John Birch Society staff. Mitchell said earlier this month he would end his controversial reign as city manager here to be come an organization director for the Birch Society on the eastern seaboard. As city manager Mitch ell was rebuffed by the state and courts for a 13-point welfare code ind indicted for bribery but later was exonerated. He said lie accepted tlic Birch job offer over several others be cause it "involves a cause in which I believe." However, he said Thursday he was "unable to fully reconcile my viewpoint with those of the so ciety." "I found after a detailed study that my own philosophy in gov ernment is far more 'moderate' than the society," he said.
