Photo by Ferebee Lakeview Reunions LAKEVIEW-The 10-year class reunion of 1953 Lakeview High School grads garnered 76 persons attending the two-day activities on Saturday and Sunday, June 29 and 30. A cocktail hour and dinner were 'held Saturday eve ning at Hunter's Lodge Mural Room, and a picnic was held Sunday at the Drews picnic area. At the dinner meeting Floyd Jones introduced Jerry Scoville. class president, who acted as master of ceremonies for the eve ning. Letters were read from those Avho were unable to be present, and those present introduced them selves, their husbands or wives, and told what they had been do ing for the past 10 years. Prizes awarded were to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Scoville, Idaho Falls, Idaho, for the most children; Con O'Kceffe, Corvallis, for being the grayest; Eugene Williams, Lake- view, tile baldest; Sue Moffitt Peterson, Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento, having the youngest child; Birdie Manning Williams, Westminster, Calif., Christine Langslet Thomas, Ogden, Utah, and Margaret Smith Halton, Salt Lake City, Utah, for having trav eled the farthest, and Rachel Gillenwater, Oregon City, for be ing the bachelor girl A vote was in favor of holding another reunion in five years. Kern, became the bride of David Allan Vinson on June IS in an exchange of wedding vows in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. ind Mrs. G. W. Vinson, also of this city. Baskets of pink and white glad ioli on either side of the pulpit formed the background for the ceremony performed by Bishop George Shaller Jr. Mrs. George Shaffer was the or ganist. Marsha Griggs sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Time After Time." The bride's floor length gown with slight train was of white satin with heavy embroidered lace over the bodice and down the front skirt panel. Pearls and se quins adorned the lace which was repealed on the long sleeves! oi the square neck bodice. A crown of seed pearls held the Doullant shoulder length veil and sue carried a white orchid with stephanotis and white satin streamers. miennams lor tne bride were Mrs. Barry Stewart, sister of the bride, this city, as matron of hon or, and Mrs. Arthur Mills. Each carried a bouquet of pinn ana white carnations and roses. Shelley Rebecca Stewart, niece of the bride, wearing a white dress flocked with pink rosebuds, served as flower girl. She carried snowballs in a pink basket. Mrs. Kern wore a dceD nink sheath jacket dress with hat and accessories matching. Mrs. Vin- Beach; Naomi Griggs Hiatt, Red mond; Bernice Arzner Hewitt Harbor. From Lakeview were Barbara Chambers Mofret, Fae Evans Maxwell. Both mothers had rose corsages to complement their outfits. Tim Cook, Palo Alto, was best man. Ushers were George Vinson brother of the bridegroom. Bob Cowling, Portland, and Ben Kern, brother of the bride. At the reception immediately! following in Cultural Hall, the cake was served by Mrs. Don Veatch and punch by Mrs. Royce Shaf fer and Mrs. Wilson Tipton. Judy Purser attended the guest book and Sue Phair and Barbara Ol son received gifts. For her going-away suit the bride wore a white silk shantung with blue blouse and blue acces sories. She is a graduate of Klamath Union High School and attended Brigham Young Univer sity for one year. The past year she has been employed in San Francisco. The bridegroom, also a KUHS graduate, received his BS degree! from University of Oregon where he is presently working on his master's degree in history. Act ing jointly as masters of cere monies were Noel Flynn of Klamath Falls, who was student body president that year, and Cliff Carter of Lakeview, class presi dent. The class prophecy was read by Gwen DeVore Mercer of Vuba City, Calif. Coming the farthest for the reunion was Eileen Barry McKee of New Brighton, Minn.
