Students s$re (juetls Jll Jeaclier 3 lAJecltlin 9 Students of tlie second grade at Fairview School were special guests at the nuptials June 16 of their teacher, Sharon Ann Pow ell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Edward Powell, and Lloyd William Shields Jr.. son of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Shields Sr., Nam pa, Idaho. The youneslcis were seated together in their own sec tion of First Preshytei ian Church where the Rev. Robert C. Groves read the marriage service Sunday. afternoon at three o'clock The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father to the strains of Wagner's wedding march from Lohengrin. Her cm broidered white gown of import ed Swiss organdy was fitted at the waist with cap sleeves and bouffant, floor length skirt. She wore a full, elbow length net, veil caught with a large white cabbage rose headdress. She car ried a cascade of white orchids, and slephanotis with ivy. H c r bouquet was attached with white ribbon to her mother's Bible In which was folded a white silk. handkerchief traditionally carried by brides in her maternal grand mother's family. . Serena Smith, childhood friend and schoolmate, who is home for the summer from Brookline, Mass., was maid of honor. Mrs. James Davidson, Crescent City, and Tessie Powell, sisters of the bride, and Cynthia Coodwin, San Jose, were bridesmaids. All four wore identical coral pink pcau do soie frocks with bell shaped skirts and carried cascade bouquets of talisman roses and slephanotis. Matching slippers and headdresses of pink net caught with pink cabbage roses completed their attire. Best man was David Ismnihi of Iran, now attending school in San Jose. James Davidson, Cres cent City, brother-in-law of (he bride, Mike Rubinfield and Den nis Anderson, San Jose, and John Carenter, Boise, were ushers. John Carpenter Arranged all of the personal flowers for the wed ding party. Carrying out the talisman rose color scheme were the pale gold candles used in seven-branch can delabra at the altar, where wood bine ferns were massed as part of the decor. Nieces of the bride, Barbara, uiano ana nay Davidson, were flower girls. They were rtreRsed, alt in white and wore lialos o white flowers in their hair. "Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring" and finticat Mc fvol to Leave Thee" were selections sung by Airs. Ray Keesling preceding rcc- itation of the wedding vows. Mrs. Kcesling sang "A Wedding Pray er" as the couple knelt at the altar. Mrs. A. F. llerringshaw played the wedding marches and accompanied the soloist. A new penny was worn by the bride in her slipper for luck. The something borrowed and some thing blue traditions were car ried out by the blue garter bor rowed from Mrs. John McCol- gin. Her matched pearl necklace was a gift of the bridegroom. Mrs. Powell wore for the oc casion a pale green sheath dress with white accessories. Mrs, Shields chose a blue lace dress with white accessories. Both mothers had corsages of slephanotis. Mrs., Wendell R. Smith and Mrs. Ben Surlier, Boise, aunt of the bride, presided at the tea and cuffec table for the recep tion in the church parlors fol lowing the ceremony. Mrs. Lloyd Prock and Mrs. Phil ip Sheridan served wedding cake where second grade guests, in charge of Karen Porter and Mrs. Itex Young, were first in line. Pouring punch were Mrs. Allen Ezell and Mrs. Don Kales. Assisting about the room were Mrs. Richard Smith, Mrs. Alva Oldham, Mrs. Lynna Martin, Mrs. Albert Angel, Mrs. Don Smith, Mrs. Tom Lawrence, Mrs. Woody lieinmiller, Mrs. Harold Rush, Mrs, Ogden Brooks, Mrs, Richard Kranenburg and Mrs Robert Faus. The bride attended Boise Jun ior College and was graduated from University of Idaho. She taught two years in Boise and the past two at Fairview School, this. citv. iler husband, graduate of I College of Idaho, taught high school classes in Melba, Idaho, before his present employment Willi Lockheed Aircraft at Sunny-, vale, Calif., where he serves as research engineer. Mr. and Mrs. Shields will be at home at 2!IM Van Sousucl Ave nue in San Jose following a hon eymoon in Southern California and Mexico. Entertaining for the bride at showers during the days prior to the marriage were Mrs. Tom Lawrence and Mrs. Allen Ezell Mrs. John McColgin and her mother, Mrs. Lloyd Prock, and Sereni; Smith and her mother, Mrs. Wendell B. Photo by Ferebee Quota Club Quota Club met in the Blue Room of the Winema Hotel Tues day, June 18, for the weekly noon luncheon. The meeting was con ducted by the president, Vi Mil telling. Lorene (luyer, program chair man, introduced tile guests of the day, Klamath County Dairy Prin San Francisco; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Petzoldt, San Leandro; Mrs. Louise Irving, Madras; Mr. and Mrs. Karl Nelson and Jim, Dunsmuir; Mr. and Mrs. Gene Page and Mr. and Mrs. William Zumbrun, Fort Klamath; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Derry, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Craven, Mr. and Mrs. Mcrvyn Wilde and Frank Sulli van Jr., Malin, icess Cathy Ross; her mother, Mrs. Lloyd Ross, and Mrs. Ray Hobson, chaperone to the dairy princess. Earl spoke briefly to the Quotarians. Vera Jones of the Baldwin Ho tel was welcomed as a new member. On June 25, the club met for the final meeting before summer recess in the Round Table Room. Plans for summer get togelh- crs were discussed and a tentative dale of July 16 set for a patio polluck supper at the home of Ninon Nyback. Members will be further advised of details. The club president, Vi Mitter- ling, is attending the 42nd conven tion of Quota International at the Slatler-Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. . A December wedding is planned. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. I. McNutt of Klamath Falls. Lodge Honors Long Service Friends and relatives gathered at the home of Mrs. Eftie Red key on Tuesday evening, June 25, for a surprise party and presen tation of her 55-year veteran's jewel from Prosperity Rebekah Lodge 104. Charlctte Anderson, noble grand of the lodge, made the presentation and congratulated Mrs. Redkey on her long and faithful membership. Mrs. Redkey joined the Re bekah Lodge at Fort Jones, Calif., in 1908. In a few years she trans ferred her membership to Pros perity Lodge. To complete the surprise beautifully decorated cake, topped with the numeral 55. was given to Mrs. Redkey. It was served later to Charlette An derson. Vera Fritsch, Frances Munscll, Harriettc Estes and Bcr nice McCracken, all officers of the lodge.
