Stern Skcen and Darrcll Alford combined pitching talents for the win with Alford picking up t h c win. Dave Kovich was the loser for Fluhrer's. The winners had the game in hand virtually all the way after scoring (our runs in the first inning although Fluhrer's tied it up once. The winners got four in the first, After one was out, Ken Pound and Chuck Mason reached first on errors and Lar ry Kobertson got on via fielder's choice. Alford's hit ball was bob-i bled and i'ound scored. S k e c n then slammed a bases loaded Uiple for the other three runs. The Bakers came back to tie the game in the second with four runs of their own. Four straight walks by Skccn to Sam McKeen, single to score the third run and ticne Harp got another single for the fourth tally. Dan Stearns drew a walk and Jack Crabtree popped out for the second out. Ken Pound kept the threat alive with a sin gle and Chuck Mason singled to score both Stearns and Pound Fluhrer's came back with two I he fifth on a hit by Jim Drew, a walk to McKeen and a hit by Zarosinski, but it wasn't enough to gel the win. Each team got five hits. The Elks had Chiloquin al most all the way. The Elks tallied six runs in the first and Chilo quin roared hack to regain the This Week's Slate lead at 7-6 in the second. But the Elks iced the game in their half of the second with six more runs and added seven in the third for the final l!J-7 tally. The winners got 16 ba.se hits loj only five for the losers. Daryl Male was the losing pitcher while Chuck Anderson notched the vie tory in relief of Larry Conn. He took over for Conn in the second inning and allowed two hits the remainder of the way.
