Don't Depend Wholly
On TV For Interest
By ANN LANDERS
Dear Ann Landers: That let

to "where they

Well, I'm in
favor of ship
ping 178 million
I foreingers back.
In 1492 those foreigners started
to com over here in boatloads
with their superior weapons and
their big Ideas. They murdered,
plundered and stole this land from
my ancestors who had rightful
claim to It for centuries.
Of course the TV version shows
it another way. but any honest
historian can give you the straight
slory of what actually happened,
if you are interested. It isn't very
pretty.
Since "Flag Waver" seems so
adamant about sending the for
eigners back may I suggest he

they are going to do as you say.

Dear Sack: I'm especially sad
that with all the fascinating books
that have been written you can't
think of a thing to do when the
TV konks out but sit and look
at four walls.

Dear Ann Landers: I'm a 16-ycar-old

I do a lot of baby-sitting and it's
sort of a hobby with me although
I can use the extra money.

Tile mosquito control program
is being carried out by the Lake
County Jaycecs and the Oregon
State Board of Health in coopera
tion with the Lakcview City Coun
cil.
Mosquitoes are easily and eco
nomically controlled if all stag
nant streams, sloughs , ponds and
puddles are chemically treated to
prevent reproduction, Moser not
ed. These areas of stagnant water
are required by the mosquitoes
for reproducing themselves. It
only lakes a few square feet of I reaching the adult stage,
still water to produce thousands is310-
of mosqitoes daily, he added.
The mosquito lays eggs in stag
nant water, and within a few
days the eggs grow in larvae or
"wigglers" from which the adult
mosquito emerges in two to seven
days. It is when the mosquito is
in the larvae stage, living in stag
nant water, that control measures
are most effective.
Ponds treated with granular!
insecticides can be kept free of
mosquito larvae all summer, pre
venting the mosquito from everl
