John Ai lhur Phillips, 37, in cus tody of Deputy Del Summers, has been transferred from the county jail to Hie stale penitentiary at Salem, where he is to serve a term not to exceed three years for obtaining money and property by false pretenses. Phillips appeared before Circuit Judge Donald A. W. Piper May 23 and pleaded guilty to passing a worthless check in the amount of $46.36 to a local store. He was sentenced to the three-year term by Judge Pier on ilay 29. After transferring the prisoner to the penitentiary, Deputy Sum mers will proceed to Eugene and take into' custody Theodore T. Furber, who is being held there for the sheriff's office. Furber is sought here on a charge of ob taining money and property by false pretenses. Wedneiday, June i. 1963 PACE 7-A OFF TO "Y" DAY CAMP Seven Klamath Falls youngsters who enjoyed YMCA Day Camp at Camp Totton last summer will probably be back this week to sign up at the "Y" for more camping fun this summer. A new feature this year is the new camp sits at Spencer Creek which will be used for two weeks by campers. The boys standing beside the bus are Shaun Smith, left, and David Milligan. Leaning out the windows are Don Foster, Paul Rock, Jim Matlock, Ron Foster and David Bissell. Boys of all ages are urged to sign up this week for live YMCA day camp program operating this year at Camp Totton on Denny Creek and at a new camp site on Spencer Creek, Bruce Gallo way, YMCA secretary, indicated. The camps will operate from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday. Tues day and Wednesday, with an over night on Thursday returning to camp Friday noon. Fathers are encouraged to spend as much time as possible with their sons on the overnight period. This year the day camp ses sions will be extended to include five weeks of camp, the first three at the Camp Totton site, June 10 to 14. 17 to 21 and 24 to 2fl. The fourth and fifth weeks will be at Spencer Creek from July 15 to 19 and 22 to 26. Camp fees will be $10 a week and include accident insurance. craft supplies, milk, transportation and supervision.
