Gil christ, and sophomore in Enqlish education at Ore gon State University, was crowned Orchid of Sigma Pi fraternity at the annual Orchid Ball held April 27 in Oceanlake at the Surf tides Resort. Her campus activities this year include inter-hall council, dormi tory adviser and participa tion on the OSU debate squad. SWEETHEART Ginger Learning, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur C. Learn ing, has been selected Red Carnation Sweetheart of the University of Oregon Chapter of Tau Kappa Ep silon fraternity, and thus an entrant in the 1963 in ternational Telce sweet heart contest. Ginger, a his tory major, is an honor stu dent and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, fresh man women's honorary and Pi Beta Phi sorority. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Cheyne, Mt. Laki District, are parents of the future bride groom. The bride -to-be is presently attending Southern Oregon College. The Social Club will meet Wednesday, June 12, for a polluck noon luncheon with Mildred Bur ns and Marie Ferrcll as hostesses. The next auxiliary meeting will lie May 24. The bride-elect attends Southern Oregon College where she is a sophomore majoring in elementary education. She is a past honored queen of Job's Daugh ters, Bethel 61; Her fiance, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Vaagen, is a junior at Willamette University. No wedding has been set. The clubrooms of the Winema Hotel were beautifully decorated with spring bouquets of daisies and candles in pastel colors fori the official visit of the new queen of Zuleima Temple, who made her official visit to the Klamath Falls Nile Club on May 1. Princess Zuliema. m her ad dress the new queen stressed the importance of the club's work in assisting the Shrine Hospital. She also thanked the club for Die hon ors of the day and for those at tending her installation. Birthday prizes were won by Princess Lura Vincent and Pnn cess Peggy Weisendanger. Spe cial prizes went to Princess Lura Vincent, Princess Dulcie Motley and Princess Melvina Inchlaum. Princess Inez Rusb, chairman for the day, introduced and thanked her very able committee. Da vis. Both families are Lakeview residents. The bride-elect is a student at Lakeview High School and plans to attend Pacific Business College, Portland. Princess KatlUeen Thompson. will give a book review for the next meeting which will be held June 5 at the Winema Motor Hotel. This will be the last meet ing of the club until Sept. 4. Over The Garden Gate MALIN GARDEV CLUB The final meeting of the Malin Garden Club will be a "come as you are" work day at the park on May 22. A potluck dinner will be served at noon.
