Competitive sports events will be part of the summer program ming. Firesides and evening en tertainment will be scheduled for the entire summer. Horseback rid ing will also be available during the entire season. The road from Ashland to Lake of the Woods, using Dead Indian Road, is clear and in good condi tion. The road from Klamath Falls is excellent. Fishing is good to excellent with most limits being caught on ford fenders and salmon eggs. The boalhouse and a complete ly stocked store will be open as soon as the work is completed. The cabins, lodge, and dining room are expected to be open for Memorial Day weekend. The telephone is now connected and it is suggested that travelers check with the lodge before plan ning to spend the weekend. Res ervations for later in the summer are being taken now. The fete is for members and guests only, but Jim Johnson said that former players under Ram sey and friends could call him for reservations at the school. The banquet begins at fi 30. The fete will be followed by a dance in the Reames ballroom. Ramsey was nominated to the Silver Anniversary All-America of Sports Illustrated magazine in 1W2. He played his college foot ball at Oregon Stale, lie was a center in his first two years, but his size and speed was recog nized and he moved to guard Ramsey came to Klamath Un ion to coach in the 19.18-W school year. H left after one year and went to Corvallis where he stayed Irom 1939-1942. He then returned lo KU in the fall of 1942 and coached the football team to the state championship. The Pels were ninncrsup in state the fnl lowing year and won the bas ketball crown under Ramsey in 1943. Ht was in the Marines in 1944 45. Tulelake's Mike Todd scored tlie game's first run in the first inning with an error, stolen base and wild pitch. The Honkers' sec ond run came when Mike Ganger opened the sixth with his second hit of the day and advanced to third on infield outs and scored on a Crume wild pitch. Young walked in the third inn ing and scored the fourth Henley run as a result of an error and fielder's choice. In the sixth. Roll ing's double 'o deep centerfield scored Lapo who had walked and stole second base. The victory gave the Hornets a 10-2 record for the season as they travel to Grants Pass Saturday for a final showdown against the Rogue River Chiefs for the Rogue Leacue baseball championship.
