But primarily it makes a spring des sert, and here is a recipe for a Strawberry-Rhubarb Chiffon Pie fit to celebrate the vernal sea. son. STRAWBERRY - RHUBARB CHIFFON PIE 1 package (I pound) frozen rhubarb Vi cup water 2 tablespoons sugar 1 regular size package (3 ounces) strawberry flavor gelatin 1 package (10 ounces) froZ' en strawberry halves 'i cup whipping cream 1 baked 9-inch pie shell, cooled Place rhubarb, water, and sugar m saucepan. Simmer, un covered, S to 10 minutes or until the large pieces of rhubarb can be broken up with a fork. Remove from heat. Add gelatin, stirring ' until it is dissolved. Add frozen block of strawberries, stirring un- ' til berries are separated. Then chill until thickened. Whip the cream until it will hold stiff peaks. Fold into thick ened fruit mixture. Pour into pie shell. Chill until set about 3 hours. Garnish with additional whipped cream, if desired. Makes 8 servings.
