Schoficld. In timber sales where tlie trees arc Individually selected for cut ting by professional foresters, the trees are spotted with a special tree-marking pamt. A marK is made on the bole of the tree, so the tree fellers can readily spot it, and also on the butt, near the ground. Blue paint is generally used to indicate individual trees that are to be cut. Orange paint is now used to mark trees tliat form the .' encircling boundary of a clear cutting area in which the trees to be cut are not individually marked. If it is suspected that trees have been illegally marked and cut, it is possible to chip paint from the stumps and have tho paint analyzed. If no tracer ele. mcnt is revealed, paint other than, that used by the BLM was em. ployed and the theft is revealed Schoficld explained. The tracer clement used is analvsis simple, fast and inexpen-' sive. Slieriff Rupert Gilmouthe said there were no new leads in the boy's disappearance. He left his home last Sunday and told a sis ter he was going to a lava bed to look for rocks.
