April It. 1963 Stud Book Publication Date Slated ALTURAS William Diekroe ger of the Model Quarter Horse Association announced this week tWat the first Stud Book of the MQIIA will roll off tlie presses between April 8 and 12. The first prinling of the 300 page book will b; 2000 copies and will list 7000 registered horses, The book will contain a history of the association and information on the breed and personal data wiil be given on each of the list ed horses. The price of the attrac tive bound volume will $10. Die kroeser said that to date there are over 9000 horses registered in the association. The MQI1A now has 93 Inspec tors in 48 states, Canada and Mex ico. Horses are registered in 46 states, Canada, Mexico, France and Columbia. Application is now pending for inclusion of the Model Quarter Horse Association registry in the official USDA booklet. The Light Horse. Appli cation has been made to the California State Fair Board Com mission for Inclusion in the stale fair premium books as a specific breed. The MQIIA is already rec ognized by the fair commissions in all other stales, The first futurity for two-year-olds in the Model Quarter Horse Association will be held in June of 1964 in Arizona. UNtUCQ City Viewed From Air A visitor to Klamath Falls from sister city Ilotorua, Jim Caud well, saw the Klamath Basin from the air Monday, through the courtesy of Southern Oregon Aviation Inc. at the municipal airport. Caudwcll with Cliff McDonald, also of New Zealand, and Joe Sawyer, city airport manager, rode the airways in a Cessna 172 piloted by Hock Pierce. The passengers were treated to a view of mountains and trees covered with snow at higher al titudes. Lake of the Woods was particularly breathtaking, Sawyer reported. Pierce, with the New Zealand Air Training Corps and the CAP, is traveling around the world. The otter sleeps in the water on its back. Lions To Ask Dunsmuir To Take Over Building DUNSMUIR The city of Duns muir will be asked to assume ownership of the Community Youth Building, recently com pleted under Lions Club sponsor ship. The move was initiated by the Lions Club at its weekly lunch eon Monday to put the build ing under public ownership and remove the possibility of a prop erty tax burden. The 40 x 80 concrete block building, adjacent to the Dunsmuir ball park, was completed last year and dedicated to youth ad- Play Rehearsed DUNSMUIR - Dunsmuir High School students are rehearsing for the presentation of "Room for One More," a two-act comedy which will be given Friday night.
