Bill Dowell. in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he is stationed with the Peace Corps. Mrs. Drazil said the connections were as plain as if he were in the USA. He called at 5:30 p.m. and she received the call at 5:30 a.m. BOB McCLLLEY, son of Mr. and Mrs. John McCulley, is spend ing a week's leave with his par ents from Camp Roberts. PEACE AMBULANCE was called to Malin Wednesday to take Dan Blodgett to the hospital. He is seriously ill. The green, sticklike praying mantis consumes its own weight in food every day. Henley High Notes The Henley High School band. under the direction of Mr. John Ginther. traveled to Bly last Mon day to take part in the dedication ceremony of the newly-built grade school. The band was also at the railroad depot last Wednesday to welcome the ex-President of the Kiwanis International. Mr. H. P Arnold. Mr. Arnold was the guest speaker at the annual banquet sponsored by the Mwanis Cluo last week. Eighteen bovs were initiated in to the Lettermen's Club Saturday. American Woltonites Oppose Bill PORTLAND HjPI' - Allan L Kellv. president of the O r e g o n Izaak Walton League, said today the league opposed proposed leg islation calling for an overhaul of Oregon's natural resource agencies. Kellv referred to a report that the bill would receive support from commercial and sports fish ing groups. He said the league had stated its opposition to the fish and game section of the basic bill at a pub lic hearing. "Some years ago." he said the Oregon division went on record in favor of the combining of the Fish and Game Commis sions but it cannot go along with combining these commissions un der the framework of the present bill as amended.
