The Wild West came alive
again in clever decorations for the
"Stirrups 'n Starlight" theme of
the annual KUHS Girls League
spring formal March 30 at the
school. Under a star-studded blue
ceiling, frontier store fronts lined
one side of the ballroom and the
band, The Hustlers, comprised of
University of Oregon men, played
from the confines of a corral. Sad
dles, wagon wheels, "wanted men"
posters and sagebrush added to
the Western atmosphere. Some
of the appropriate dance titles in
eluded Wild West Walti, Hitch
ing Post Hop, Sagebrush Swing
and Lariat Leap.
Highlight of the annual dance
is the naming of the "Girl of the
Year," representing each class
and chosen by her classmates. The
four girls chosen this year are pic
tured above, left to right, Nancy
Bdlcer, senior; Tessie Powell, junior;
Linda Bonotto, sophomore, and
Bobbie Jean Brady, freshman.
