COOKING EXPERT Mrs. Bev Lyons, home economist for COPCO Division mX Pacific Power and Light Company will be coordinator and co-director of the Third Annual Herald and News Cooking School. She will work with Mrs. Ruth King, Herald end Nwv food1 editor, on the three-day school, starting Tuesday, and will conduct the final work session Thursday. The school will be held at the fairgrounds Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. Doors will be open at 1 2 noon, and there is no admission, charge. Door prizes and awards will be given. Klamath Falls merchants and distributors will have displays. . Recipes For Demonstration SOUR CREAM STREl'SE! COFFEE CAKE 2'i cups flour 2 cups brown sugar -t cup butter 1 cup sour cream i teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon balling powder 1 egg . 2 tablespoons chopped nuts Combine flour, sugar and butter mix with a pastry blender or pastry fork until mixture resem bles course meal. Reserve 2.3 cup of mixture for the lopping. Add sour cream, soda, baking powder and beaten egg to flour mixture. .beating until batter is smooth. Pour into a well buttered x s imh bakine Dan. Add nuts to re served crumb mixture, sprinkle generously .over top of coffee cake and bake in 375 degree oven 35 minutes or until browned. Vice president Jeanne Stastny called' Hie meeting to order. Under old business we discussed our record books which the whole club did real well on. Our secretary's book received a blue seal. New business was whether or not lo elect officers. Officers elected are as follows: President, Jeanne Stastny; vice president, 1. i n d a - Kirkpatrick; secretary, Kristi Ottoman; treasurer, Patri cia Walker; news reporter, Shar on Micko. At present there arc 10 mem bers. This year there are four new members. They are Sharon Micka, Kirk Kirkpatrick, Susan IVrro, and Margaret Ann Blohm. Our assistant 'leaders are Mrs. Walter Stastny and Mrs. Jim Ot toman. The meeting was adjourned and Refreshments were ' served by Mrs. Tofell. MERRILL BEEF CLUB On Jani 9, :the meeting of the Merrill Beef Club was called to order by Rocky Liskey, presi dent. Mr. Retterath passed out new record books, as well as books for the treasurer and sec retary. Each member told what they were feeding the animals and liow they were doing.
