Southpaw Jack Kralick became the second Minnesota pitcher to pitch a full nine innings Tuesday in blankuig the Baltimore ori oles. 2-0, on six hits. Just last Saturday, the Twins' other top left-hander. Jim Kaat. went the route against the Philadelphia Phillies. No other major league team has had two pitchers go all the way this spring. In fact, only three other pitchers Johnny Podres of the Los Angeles Dodg ers, Paul Brown of the Phils and Gordon Seyfried of the Cleveland Indians have gone the distance during the exhibition season. Kralick, who pitched a no-hit-fer last year, scattered four hits in eight innings Tuesday before weakening with two out in the ninth inning. Jim Gentile and Joe Gaines singled but Kralick got the last batter on a ground out. Vic Power's first inning home run off Robin Roberts and Earl Battey's sacrifice fly in the sixth provided for the Twins runs. Giants Lose Another The San Francisco Giants, who came close to beating the Yan kees in the World Series, suf fered their fourth straight defeat to the Los Angeles Angels Tues day, 4-2. Bob Sadowski's grand slam homer in the ninth inning came off rookie Danilo Rivas. Jack Fisher, who had pitched eight scoreless innings, walked Susanville Captures Tournament . ALUIIUS, Calif. UPI - A look at basketball's new rules for next season suggested today that it will take as much as 15 min utes longer to play a game, but there will be les shoving around along the baseline. . Most important of the changes adopted by the National Basket ball Rules Committee at the final session of a three-day meeting here Tuesday was a provision for stopping the game clock w henever the referee blows his whistle, for any reason. Heretofor, the clock has run on while the ball was- handled or taken out of bounds for such vio lations as traveling, double drib bles and in many other situations. Now it will stop, and Cliff Fagan. secretary of the rules committee. said college games obviously will require 12 to 15 minutes more to play. New Personal Foul The other major change will do away with the old call of "forced out of bounds," in which the play- er with the ball was given pos session on an out of bounds play. Acting on the assumption that it is impossible to force a player out of bounds without fouling him. such a call now will result in a personal foul on the defensive man. The committee also eliminated the practice of "official's time out," for the purpose of adjust ing or repairing equipment or ap parel. This change is aimed pri marily at players who wear low cut shoes which often come off, delaying the game. Players have been suspected of deliberately los ing shoes to stop the action.
