Exchange Club Circus clown Mark Anthony, are their trade marks. No two are exactly alike and each successful clown has devoted many months ... or more probably years ... to the creation of his. own individual character. He spends hours daily applying his make-up in the one way that makes his "face" identi cal day after day. There are three general types of clowns: tramp, white face and character. In the Ken Jensen Exchange Club Circus that will appear here on Saturday, March 23, at the Klamath Falls Audi torium are outstanding examples of each type. Harry "Rossi" Ross and Shorty JCeal are traditional white face: George "Pcrkie" Per kins is a classic tramp type; and Mark Anthony, is character strictly character. According to John Voth, Klam ath Falls Exchange Club circus chairman, the clowns are peren nial favorites and people who have enjoyed the Ken Jensen Exchange Club Circus in the past are looking forward to the new est antics of the funmakcrs, de signed to please young and old alike. By ANN LANDERS Dear Ann Landers: A short time ago a gil l in the local high school had a baby out of wed lock, bhe as not wild or pro miscuous. It was just a case of going too stead ily and too se riously with the same boy. This unfortu nate girl has a hunger sister who is close friend of my daughter's. They belong to the same youth group. The group is having a dance in April and ihe girls must ask the boys. The sister invited two boys and Uiey both turned her down. They told her candidly they had noth ing again.it her but their parents forbade them to go with her be cause of what happened to her sister. The poor girl is heartsick. She has even considered quitting school. Do you see any justifica tion whatever for the actions of the parents'.' I'm too involved to evaluate the situation properly. Please comment. MRS. J. R. Dear Mrs. J. R.: No justifica tion whatsoever. The action of these parents Is shocking. To punish an innocent girl for something her sister did is not only cruel but senseless. If this is the standard of justice the par ents arc setting for their sons I feel sorry for all of them. what happens if you tear a pair of hose? We drive amice car, and have a pleasant apartment. George makes a good salary and so do I 1 turn my check over to George every week. He handles all the money and pays all the bills. He gives me $5 a week for bus fare and lunches. We are in debt about $2,000 but all our payments are made on time and everything-is under control. If I bring home a toss cushion for the sofa he goes into a rage. He says, "That was not ui our budget." If a sale on dresses comes along he says I can get along without a new dress. et, he buys doodads for himself and doesn't think a thing of it. I hate to admit it, Ann, but I'm afraid to spend a cent. What is your advice? MRS. SCROOGE Dear Mrs. Scrooge: Five dol lars a week is not enough for car fare and a decent lunch. And HERALD AND NEWS. Klamath Falls. Ore. Tuesday, March 11, 1963 Dear Ann Landers: For tlie past ten years my husband and I have taken our vacation in April. We've always gone to visit my parents who live in Vermont. This year we are faced with a serious problem which involves our German shepherd who is just like a child to us. Shep is very gentle if people are nice to him. We have always taken him with His when we visited the folks. For tlie last couple of years we ve had a litue promem De cause mom's housekeeper, Mag gie, docs not like Sliep. Maggie said Shep bit her but there were only nip-marks on her leg and I would hardly consider it a bite. I'm sure Maggie must have kicked Shop or done something mean to him because he is very sweet. Anyway mother wrote and said we are not to oring snep wun us this time. I feel it is very ;cl(ish of her to put her house keeper's w ishes before our Shep. Please tell me what we slioulc. do.-R. G. Pacific Power & Light Com pany announced this week it will again sponsor an engineering ca reer seminar lor teenage boys as part of the lfltv) Junior En gineers' and Scientists' Summer Institute slated for June 9 to 22 at Oregon State University.
