The bride, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Edward A. Turner, this city
was given in marriage by her fa
ther. The bridal gown was of
white silk organza with quipure
lace detailing the sculptured neck
line. The fullness of the skirt was
made by diagonal pleats flowing
into a chapel train. An organza
flower with pearlized drops held
in place the elbow length veil of

LAKEVIEW A Valentine
theme, effectively carried out,
was the setting for the annual
Tri-Club banquet on the evening
of Thursday, Feb. 14. at Hunter's
Lodge when the Lakeview Busi
ness and Professional Women's
Club was hostess to the Lakeview
Chapter of the American Asso
ciation of University Women and
the Lakeview Soroptimist Club
The serving was smorgasbord
style.
There were 115 members and
guests scaled at the banquet ta
bles as the welcome was given
by Mahel Thornton, president of
BPW, who urged all to tarry out
the theme of "Tri-Sweethcarts"
for the evening. She called on
Gertrude McDougall for the invo
cation. Responses to the welcome
were given by Frances Nichols,
president of AAUW, and Alice
Busacker. president of Ihe Sorop
timist Club. All members and
guests were introduced.
Pink and white were used
throughout the tables with center
pieces of pink bouquets, lajicrs.
and tiny pink hearts scattered on
the white tablecloths. Each lady
was presented with a corsage of
tiny pink roses, and siecial cor
sages o( roses and carnations witii
a miniature heart of rliincstones
imbedded were presented to those
sealed at the head table. Large
felt pink hearts, trimmed with
lace and dotted Willi silhouettes
formed covers for the programs
For the entertainment program

iew" schools, presented a girls'
quartet from the senior high
school ill two numbers. It was
made up of Toni Cozzalio, Teresa
Jacobs. Darlcne Sanliorn and
Inyce Fenimore. Vocal numbers
were also enjoyed from a girls'
triple trio from the ninth grade.
This included Carol Simpson, Mar-
cia Mast. Patti Metzen, Linda
Moran, Marcia Flynn, Bonnie
Rratton, Sherrie May. Linda Lin-
ville, and Virgie Padget, with
Susan Orr as accompanist.
A highlight of the evening was
the fashion show produced with
the cooperation of five local shops
and stores, Bon Bazaar, Mary-Jo
Shop, Maxwell's, Modc-ODay and
C. Penney Company. Narrator
for tile show was Jo Decly.
The models entered the runway
by stepping through a huge pink
and white heart. They included

dressed alike in silver blue and
mauve stain brocade frocks and
carried pink carnations and dark
pink heather.

Rodney Graham, Eugene, cousin
of the bridegroom carried the
rings.
Candlelighlers were Dwight Wor
rell and Ralph Jennings, Klamath
Falls.
The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence C. Paslay
of Eugene.
Best man was the Rev. Clyde
Johnson, Stockton, Calif., cousin
of tiie bridegroom. Ushers were
Jim Mitchell. Spripgfield, Bob
Hayes and Vern Marks, both of
Eugene. '
Mrs. Alvin Hess of Merrill was
organist. The soloist. Skip Marks.

Hawaiian Wedding Song" and
The Iive of God."
The reception was held in the
Klamath Tample annex. Assisting
were Mrs. t. W. Johnson, Seattle;
Mrs. Harlan Lindstrand. Everett,
Wash., cousin of the bridegroom;
Mrs. Bill Mayficld and Mrs.
James Colella. both of Martinez,
Calif., aunts of the bride, and
Mrs. Jack Wesely of Roseville,
Calif.
The couple spent their honey
moon in Mexico and now are at
home in Eugene, w here he is em
ployed. The bride has completed
two years at Bible Standard Col
lege. Her travel outfit vvas a rose
wool sheath worn with matching
accessories.

The Klamath Falls Branch of
the American Association of Uni
versity Women Higher Education
Study Group recently participat
ed in an AAUW evaluation of a
proposed public school course. The
evaluation of the course, "Democ
racy versus Communism" was
made at the request of the Ore
gon Slate Department of Educa
tion. The resulting critique which
combined suggestions from the 26
Oregon branches was commend
ed by both the governor and the
department.
The report submitted to the De
partment of Education stated that
the course as presented was too
mature for the students and that
while fairness to communism was
accorded, course material must
not apologize for democracy.
Branches suggested books to be
added to the course bibliography,
special teacher training, and
close correlation with current
events.
