HERALD AND NEWS. Klamath County, City 'Cooperate'. On Streets A unique county-city' agreement (or road improvements within Klamath Falls has drawn consid erable interest from other cities in Oregon. City Manager Robert Kyle said . Tuesday there have been 29 re quests (rom other cities for de tails of the agreement in which Klamath County budgets money for the improvement of Klamath Falls streets. During the 1961-62 ! fiscal year, the county budgeted $15,500 for the program. ! Primary improvement this year! , has been the resurfacing of a por , tion of East Main Street. Deter- mination of priorities are decided by criteria such as traffic volume, tons of commerce and whether! or not the street connects with others. Klamath Falls Mayor Robert E. Veatch spoke last week at the League of Oregon Cities meetingj in Portland and explained the co operative street program and in vited interested cities to write for further information. Twenty ninel cities had responded as of Tues day. Dealer Tells 'Resentment' SEATTLE (AP) An antiquel dealer being tried on a charge of grand larceny has testified child hood resentment of being a Jew led to a life of deception. Raoul Guy Rockwell, born Rock well Guy Muldavin in Manhattan 38 years ago tomorrow, gave that testimony Tuesday. He is accused of cheating his mother-in-law, Mrs. Clifford Winkler Sr., out of $10,000. He said he told Mi s. Winkler he planned to buy a collection of In-I dian handiwork with the money, but the deal fell through after hej was bilked by a Canadian to whom he advanced $500. Rockwell said after that he couldn't face his new bride, Eve lyn Emerson Rockwell, and Mrs. Winkler, her stepmother, so he left Aug. 4, 1960. He said the balance of the $10,000 went partly for traveling to San Francisco and then the East Coast. He was arrested in New York City last December. Rockwell told of being sensitive about being a Jew and said that was the main reason he changed his name, had his nose straight ened and dyed his hair. He said he frequently told lies about himself and misrepresented himself in Seattle as a Fulbright scholar, a university graduate, a war hero and a world traveler. Asst. Prosecutor Anthony Savage asked Rockwell if the Winklers re ceived a letter purportedly signed by a Maj. John Riley. Rockwell said they did and it described him as having served with conspicuous gallantry as an Army intelligence officer from 1939 to 1945. Cooked Food Sale Saturday Women of the Mt.
