(AP'-Lovern Elmer Jackson. 31, pleaded guilty in Barnstable District Court Mon day to a charge of being a fugi tive from justice in connection with the disappearance of $36,000 from a Baker, Oregon, bank by which he had been employed. He was held in $3,000 bond, pending disposition Oct. 25. Police said he would be turned over to federal authorities who hold a warrant for his arrest. Investigators said Jackson was arrested in a Hyannis motel Sun day night after they received a tip from a woman who reported she saw the photograph of a wanted man who resembled Jack son. The woman was not identi fied by authorities. Police said Jackson disappeared from the Baker branch of the U.S. National Bank of Portland, Dec. 17, 1960, with the money. When arrested he had $9,217 on his per son and keys to the bank. He has been living in West Yarmouth. Police quoted Jackson, also known under the alias "Chuck" Osborne, as saying he had trav eled in Florida. Wisconsin, Can ada. Nevada and California since leaving the bank. Jackson had worked for the par ent bank for nearly 10 years and had been assigned to its branch's at Salem, Roseburg and Hillsboro before being transferred to Baker. His wife and child moved from Baker not long after he vanished. His wife had protested that he would have done nothing wrong and that he must have met with a mishap. SOVtET-GERMAN PACT?
