MERRILL Klamath B a I i n clubs, lodges, businesses and in dividual have been invited to join in the 25th Annual Klamath Basin Potato Festival Parade James Chance, parade chairman, announced this week. The parade will assemble on , Garfield Street near the elemen tary school grounds at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. It will begin at It a.m. Entries will march south to the highway, east to the Signal Sta tion corner, north two blocks and west to the starting point, then ; disband. -'. Lewis S. Kandra, pioneer Mer. rill rancher and livestock pro ducer, will serve as marshal and will be flanked by three riders, forming a diamond. Mrs. Maudie Liskey and Vic Shuck will ride at the side and Mrs. Charles Dix on riding her Tennessee Walking horse will ride in the back. Entries will be judged on the parade route. Judges will observe how the entry adheres to the pa' rade theme, if it has wide com . niunity Interest, if it has eye ap peal, quality and neatness; if the truck cab, if any, is covered and if. the entry's framework is cov ered; how it is built and quality of lettering. There is no real theme for the parade but the float should sug gest the potato and harvest idea. Parade classes are as follows: Class 1, commercial section (im plement dealers, business and oth ers) first place. $23 or cup; sec ond place, $15.
