THE COMMODORE'S BALL, a high fight of the year for membert of the Klam ath Yacht Club, was held Feb. 25 in a jet ting appropriately nautical in decor. Comi cal fish silhouettes on the windows ap peared to be caught in the nets which were draped around the club room.' Colorful floats end individual flags added to the theme. J" -v i QUOTA CLUB of Klamath County loots forward each year to the February banquet when the Woman of Achievement is named. This year Mrs. A, J. (Ruth) King was selected for the honor. She is pictured above, center, with Natalia Reichenberg, left, club president. Joyce Riler, right, in malting the presentation, cited Mrs. King for her contributions to such projects as the Potato and Bohemian festivals and establish, ment of Wiard Park. During her years as Herald and News reporter Mrs. King has made many friends and many are those whom she has helped in selfless act of generosity and kindness. Mrs. Riker paid tribute to Ruth King "as the person people call on with such confidence to say, 'I know of someone who needs help.' " fen v id HEARTS AND FLOWERS was the theme and motif for simple effective decorations at Quota Club's banquet Feb. 28 in the Pelican Party Room. Mrs. Robert A. Thompson, above center, presented her excellent review of "The Listener" by Taylor Caldwell for the program. She was introduced by Joy Rolph, left, chair man of the affair. Elisabeth Derby, right, assisted with arrangements. Gail Campbell sang three selections, accompanied at the piano by her mother, Mrs. Anita Campbell. Past women of achievement present were Dorothy Pinniger, Lucille West. Alice Vitus. Ellen Clark, Frances Watkins, Clara Moore, Buena Stone and Pat sy Fredrftkson. Unable to be present were Betty Pepple, Mary Maxwell, Betty Hahi, Ly nn Kendall and Myrtle Wimer.
