THIS IS EASY MENU
FOR HUNGRY KIDDIES
: SMALL FRY, red-cheeked, with big outdoor appetites like their food served attrac
; tively as well as do grownups, A lunch or supper menu might feature a giant rocking
; horse cookie jar brim-full of the delicious aroma of hot steaminq chowder. And every
; single one of the varieties of chowder will tickle the taste of your hungry family.
; Children and grownups, too, love chowder any time or day, because it is warm,
friendly and so easy to go down. ,
Small fry with big outdoor ap
petites like their food served at
tractively just like the big folks.
A lunch or supper menu might
include a giant rocking horse
jar brim-full of the delicious
aroma of hot steaming chowder.
Every variety of chowder is so
easy to prepare as easy as
opening the cans of condensed
soups stored on the kitchen shelf.
Children love chowder any time
of the day because it is warm,
Orange Salad
Oranges are at the peak of
their season now, so serve them
often. One good way Is in "Or
ange Salad, California." Arrange
orange slices in a circle on each
green-garnished salad plate, then
pour on a tangy salad dressing,
spiked with chopped parsley, grat
ed onion and flavorful, meaty ripe
olives. The combination of orange
and olive is pleasant and un
usual. Keep a supply of rich, zes-
ty ripe olives on your pantry
shelf for other drcss-ups; you'll
find they do great things to ev
eryday meat stews, sandwich fill
ings and vegetables, too.
ORANGE SALAD, CLAIFOHNIA
2 large oranges.
Lettuce for garnish
1-3 cup ripe olives
, 1 tablespoon ' chopped pars
ley Vi teaspoon grated onion
1-3 cup tart French dressing
Pare oranges and cut into
crosswise slices about ' inch
thick. Arrange slices in lettuce
cups. Cut olives and combine over
parsley, onion and French dress
ing. Pour over oranges.
Makes 4 servings. I
friendly and easy to go down.
Chowder might have a . con
densed mushroom soup base or
start with any other of the other
creamed soups chicken, eel
ery, vegetable. Golden kernels of
corn add color, excitement and
texture contrast for the palate.
Chowder is perfect served with
cheese sticks or crackers and a
jellied fruit salad. Raisin - nut
cookies make a tasty dessert.
