Klamath County 4-H Clubs Observing National Week About 800 Klamath County 4-H Club members are Joining about 2V' million boys and girls in rural, urban and suburban areas throughout the nation In celebrat ing National 4-H Club Week, March 4 through 11. . Carol Armstrong, county exten sion aeent. savs that they will recognize "4-H alumni." These 20 million men ana women uirougn out the U.S. have participated in the 4-H program in the 50 years since the movement started and are benefitting from training and experience they received as 4-H members. Many alumni are leaders of lo cal 4-H clubs in Klamath Coun ty. Window displays in local mer chants' windows, set up by local clubs, will help celebrate the week here. Nationally, 4-H Club Week will be highlighted in Washington, D.C., when sixt4-H members chos en as delegates from all states will present the annual 4-H Club "report to the nation." The report will summarize in stories and pictures outstanding 4-H accomplishments and pay trib ute to the thousands of former ' 4-H'ers. The six, while in the capital, expect to review the report with President John F. Kennedy at the White House. They also plan to visit other agricultural officials and various senators and mem bers of congress on Capitol Hill. Honors will also go to volunteer leaders who guide 4-H work in local communities throughout the states and Puerto Rico. Main purposes of 4-H Club Week this year are to provide an op portunity to acquaint more young people with opportunities through joining or forming 4-H clubs, to assist new members in starting projects, to inform the public about 4-H aims and methods, and to pay tribute to outstanding graduates of the program. Bert Frewing On Dean's List '. PACIFIC UNIVERSITY, Forest Grove Bert Frewing, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. K. Frewing, 4225 Summers Lane, has recently been named to the Dean's List honor roll for the fall semester. To be eligible for this honor a student must have attained a grade point average of at least 3.25. Frewing Is a sophomore major ing in pre-optometry. He is -a graduate of Klamath Union High School.
