Dial A Book
The library of the Del(t Insti
tute of Technology of the Nether
lands has introduced an innova
tion that is expected to ease the
librarian's lot, and that of the
borrower as well. It is based on
the dial system of the telephone.
When the borrower has consulted
the catalogue and made his selec-
tion. he dials a seven-digit num-j
ber with which the book is iden
tified. Immediately, lights flash on
in the stacks, directing the attend
ant to the aisle, bookcase and
shelf, and finally to the place ofj
the requested book on that shelf.
All he has to do is to place the
work on the conveyor belt that
lands in the lending room.
Thus far. the Delft library is'
the world's first to be soi
equipped. But expect the system
to spread; it is a simple way of
saving time and money two
things all libraries are eternally
short of. I
Fashion Flair
When you go shopping for new
clothes, pack some imagination in
your change purse, so that the
clothes you biing home will be
different from those you already
have in your closet. Be adventur
ous with new color. Try on a
dress in a new silhouette and se
what'it does for you. Don't buy
a (tress because it looks young,
or old. Buy it because it "do
something'' for you. Buy it bc-
cause it gives you a wonderful
feeling of being a new woman.
Do not try to be a carbon copy
of someone else. Buy what looks
best on you.

Wash-DRY-And Wear...
and save time, money, needless work
Wash 'n wear is a magic phrase to many .
homemakers, especially those with school
kids. New fabrics eliminate ironing chores,
save money because fewer clothes must
be purchased, cost less, are easier to keep
clean and neat. But you can't wear after
you wash until you DRY and in the
fall-and-winter rainy season, this can be a
problem . . .
But it's a problem easily and automatically solved
by an ELECTRIC CLOTHES DRYER built especially
to handle the newest wash-DRY-and wear fabrics.
