ized to sign an application for a
Federal Loan grant to be submit
ted to the Water Pollution Board
at Santa Rosa. II the application
is granted the government will
furnish 30 per cent of the plant
construction costs providing the
district has passed the bond is
sue and has 70 per cent of the
costs available. The grant de
pends upon the amount allowed
each state by the federal government.
Krum stated that the money
provided by the federal grant is
not required to be, repaid by the
district.

BIG SPRINGS ;
The Grenada and Gazelle 4-H
Clubs were guests of the Bigl
Springs 4-H Club at a valentine
party held in the community hall
at Big Springs.
Entertainment for the evening
was in the form of games and
dancing.
Refreshments were served con
sisting of punch and cupcakes.

Summer Terms Okayed
McCLOUD The Siskiyou Union
High School Board of Trustees met
here Feb. 16.
A resolution in memoriam was
adopted for former board mem
ber Archie Kindig of Fort Jones,
who died recently.
In other action, the board
authorized six - week summer
school sessions, agreed to sub
mit an application for approval of
National Defense Education
Act guidance program, set the
start of the school year at Sept.
5, included in board policy a stip
ulation that any student must be
eligible to receive a diploma be
fore he may participate in gradu
ation exercises.
The next meeting was set for
March 16 at .Mount Shasta.
