Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy has
made about the White House?
This was the mystery intriguing
the capital today.
The first lady's press secretary
Miss Pamela Tumure, made the
titillating disclosure Friday that
Mrs. Kennedy came across start
ling discoveries during her first
two weeks in the executive man
tion.
Mrs. Turnure said the first lady
would make the discoveries pub
lic soon. She said she did not
know what they were.
The attractive press secretary
would say only (hat Mrs. Ken
nedy "has learned some startling
things she wants to share.
These things were discovered,
Miss Turnure said, during Mrs,
Kennedy's tours of the White
House with members of the Fine
Arts Commission.
Capital observers speculated
about what the discoveries might
be.

Hatfield Goes

Protest Bills

Washington Hospital in Seattle,
who equipped Miller's heart witn
battery power.
A few months apo life was run.

fainting spells., his vision was
faulty, his feet were always cold.
His wife. Mary, recalls that she
carried his meals to him became

Socialite Says
She's innocent
PORTLAND (AP) - A former
Dallas, Tex., socialite Friday
pleaded innocent to a second in
dictment charging her with first
degree murder.
The indictment accuses Mrs.
Joseph L. Garrett, Portland, of
setting a fire in her home that
caused the death of her daughter, ,
Angela, 3. Two other Garrett
children and the children's gov
erness, Patricia Gravatt, also
died in the Oct. 7 hlaie.
Mrs. Garrett was earlier ac
quitted of a similar charge in the
death of her youngest daughter,
Gaye, I months.
