They hope that day to sell most of 10.000 boxes of delectable minU thev have ordered to help pay for council expenses. The sirls have had such suc cess with their product, crem mint wafers, in past years tha they are ordering more of th same. v.arh hox sold will return eight cents to the treasury of the sell er's Camp Fire group The re maining profit will be used fof council operation. Speaker On Sweden Available LAKEVIEW - Mary Shirley Frakes, 22, who spent 6!i month! living with farm families In Swe den recently, will be available as a speaker In Lake County Feb. 22 and 23. Any school or group in th county interested In a visit from Miss Frakes is invited to call at the county agent's office or phon WH 7-2279. She will present her program of colored slide photographs and commentary. The program is free of charge. It is designed tn acquaint the public with the Ore gon International Farm Youth Ex- ' change (1FYE) program. She was one of four recent IFYE delegates from the state. She spent time with 12 rural fam ilies in Sweden. The rancheJ ranged from 400 . acres to very small diversified farms. Sha helped with farm work, harvest ing wheat, barley and potatoes, and with housework. "Each day," says Miss Frakes, "my host and I would hurry through the housecleaning and chores, then work on a special project. I learned to do Swedish embroidery, to make sausage, which we prepared for smoking to be used at Christmas, and of course, I learned to make Swe dish pastries." She lived for awhile with th (.Lapps in Lapland, a portion of northern Sweden, and for a tim in a fishing village. These two experiences are among those sh values most, says Miss Frakes. While living with the Lapps, sha helped round up reindeer and milked them. Miss Frakes is a native of Bend. She has nearly completed work for her bachelor of sciencs degree in home economics at Oregon State College. She was a 4-H Club member 10 years and spent two years as a 4-H leader. ' SCOUT NEWS PACK 77 Cub Scouts of Pack 77 received awards during their monthly meeting Jan. 27 at the Congrega tional Church as follows: Mark Kimball, bobcat rank) Richard Ackerman and John Brit ton, wolf rank; Wayne Bohannon, bear rank; Estin Hanson, wolf gold arrow and 50th anniversary award; George Knudson, two-year pin, and Charles Bath, two-year pin. The meeting opened with a sa lute to the flag led by Den Chief Mike Carlson. Cubs of Den 2 de livered a short talk about a coun try in South America and dis played a. replica they made of that country's flag. The cubs also played "the rooster game" of South America. Boys of Den 1 accompanied a recording of "Little Cocoa Palm" with drums and maracas they made. Cubmasler Bill Ackerman an nounced the cubs will conduct their annual blue and gold ban quet Feb. 17 at 90 p.m. at tha church. Boy Scout Week from Feb. ti through 18 will be observed. Cubs will wear their uniforms then. Members of Den 1 and Den I formed "living circla" for tha closing ceremony. 0
