MR. AND MRS. CLARENCE R. BELL, 2254 Darrow
Avenue, announced recently the engagement of their
daughter, Bonnie Jean, to Charles Merlyn Black of Liver
more, Calif. He is the son of Mrs. Lyle Jacobs of Mt.
Vernon, Ore. The future bride is a KUHS graduate. Her
fiance is a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and Ore
qon Technical, Institute. He is employed as machinist at
the University of California atomic radiation plant in
Livermore. The wedding will take place April 29.

Patrick Schuler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schuler, also
of Lakeview. A graduate of Lakeview High School, the
future bride is majoring in accounting at Oregon Techni
cal Institute. Her .fiance is stationed at Cape Canaveral
with the Army. He was graduated from Lakeview High

in the City Library with 11 tables

place in the north-south posi
tion. 1

ruys, second, and Mr. and Mrs.
John Lake, third.
East-west first place winners
were Mrs. Lester Offield and Mrs.
George Rogers, followed by Frank
Ricky and William Cunningham in
second, and' Mrs. Claudine Van
Buskirk and Mrs. L. C. Jones,
third.
Ten tables were in play at the
Tuesday morning, Jan. 24, ses
sion. First, north-south, were Mrs.
William Grove and Mrs. Leona
Robertson. Mrs. Lena Smith and
Mrs. Lloyd Goble were second.
Mrs.' William Cunningham and
Mrs. Frank Ricky and Mrs. An
drew Honfel and Mrs. Grace
Krcssc tied for third and fourth.

who was 17 years old. The 30

12 o'clock when refreshments were

Viv Murray is among 22 stu
dents at Linlield College who are
completing a semester of student
teaching in Yamhill County public
schools. She is teaching American
history and world cultures at New
burg High School.
