Sunday, Jaauary U, Ml Fair Ideas Asked At Tulelalte Meet TULELAKE Prospective, fair exhibitors at the 1961 Tulelake Butte Valley Fair will have an opportunity to express ideas at coming meetings for improve-j ments or ideas or the 22 exhibit divisions to be open next fall. Bill Whitaker, in announcing the series of meetings on Jan. 16-17. said meetings are arranged to MOVING? Recommendations made at the meetings will be referred to the board of directors and if approved will be incorporated into the 1961 premium book. Richardson John Buckham TU 2-021 TU 2-0415 Navy, Army To Communicate Via Satellite WASHINGTON (AP)-The Navy and the Army plan to use a satel lite to talk to each other. The Navy announced Thursday it will put communications equipment iq a snip tor radio voice ana tele graphic contact with two Army stations ashore using the pro posed Advent satellite to relay the statements. . The Advent communications satellite is expected to be ready for tests in the spring of 1962. It is intended to orbit on an equa torial path at a height of about 22,000 miles, with its speed matched to the rotation of the earth. City streets were patrolled to the extent of 2,431 miles on po lice car speedometers. Eighty four traffic citations were issued and police investigated four auto mobile accidents, one involving three persons injured. Seventeen arrests were made for miscellaneous offenses and two cases were handled involving possession of alcoholic beverages by minors. Chief Clark reported pressures on the police department lessened with the opening of the freeway. both in handling traffic and num. ber of "undesirables" coming into the city. . New Year's Eve in Dunsmuir was celebrated quietly. No cele brants were arrested for unruly conduct, said the chief.
