ducted by President Alma Cofer
and reports given of the Christ-
project. Election of offi
cers was held with the following
results: Margaret Biden, presi
dent; Velma Krause, vice presi
dent; Helen McCornack, secre
tary, and May Phinney, treasurer.
The next meeting and luncheon
will be held at the home of Helen
Blanas on Feb. 7, and all past
noble grands are invited to attend.
MR. AND MRS. ALBERT O. JORDAN observed their 50th wedding anniversary
Dec. 10 at their home in Dunsmuir. They have lived their entire married life in Siski
you County, their first home being in Etna. "

Golden Date
DUNSMUIR Mr. and Mrs. Al
bert 0. Jordan observed their
first Christmas together in 1910!
in a ranch home near Etna. Mrs.
Jordan, the former Mary Brazil,
was just 16 and Jordan was 21.
They had been married two
H'eeks. .
Mr. and Mrs. Jordan celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary on
the evening' of Dec. 10 in the
company of their daughter, grand
children and great-grandchildren.
Their Christmas tree this year
was on the front porch of their
home at 1117 Butterfly Avenue.
"We like to share," Mrs. Jor
dan explained. They have shared
much in the last 50 years but
like to dwell on the happy things
Jordan used to play the violin
for Scott Valley social gatherings
and he met his future wife at a
dance. They were married by
Judge Martin Marks, Etna justice
of the peace.
He has been a rancher, spent
several years working in the
woods and has worked for the for
st,iiervicB. In 1921, he was super
.. intendent and toll collector for the
- Soda Creek Toll Road from Cas
tie Crags to McCloud. He's been
a county road foreman and for a
time was in charge of all road
equipment in District 3.
In 1918 and 1919 when the first
power line was being built in
the Sacramento Canyon, Jordan
drove the pack-laden mules that
. kept the job from Castella to La
Moine supplied. Later when
Southern Pacific was relocating
line for Shasta Dam, he was sta
tionary engineer at Silverthom in
1940.
"We've been a moving family,"
Mrs. Jordan said but agreed that
wherever her husband wanted to
live and whatever he wanted to
do has met with her approval.
"But I'm glad he's never want
ed to leave Siskiyou County," she
concluded.
The Jordans have made their
home in Dunsmuir since 1935. For

Mrs. Al McMasters. all of Klam
ath Falls, and Maria and Monte
