Photo by Roberta McGee H ome Exe nsion At the Dec. 13 Christmas par ty of the Poe Valley-Olene Unit members of Langell Valley Unit were invited guests. Gifts- were exchanged and luncheon served by Mrs. Edward Wenz and Mrs. Earnest Geingcr The next meeting will be in Clone on Jan. 10. Fabric identifi cation will be the topic. The Shasta-Homedale Unit ob served the holiday season with gift exchange Dec. 16 at the fairgrounds. Lucile House and fieah Ferrell molded cranberry salad into candle shapes for ad ditional table attractions. A special program was pre sented by Bea Johnson and Chris tina Thomason, members of the Buena Vista Unit. They showed different Christmas ornaments and gifts to be made at home, Present besides the fourteen members were guests, Mrs. Ethel Woodruf, Mrs. Bessie Book, Mrs. E. Windham and Ada Flackus. Bly Unit met Dec. 8 at the home of Mrs. Robert Novey for its Christmas party. Mrs. Thomas Thomson led the demonstration on making wreaths with aluminum foil and a mon tage picture from old greeting cards. Mrs. Novey explained some of. her decorations and Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell demonstrat ed the making of a tree from chicken wire, boughs and orna ments. Refreshments were served fol lowing the gift exchange. Juanita Nelson acted as baby sitter at her home. This service CAROLYN OSBORN will be installed as honored queen of Bethel No. 61, Jobs Daughters, on Jan. 14 at the Scottish Rite Temple. The public is in vited to the ceremony which will start at 8 p.m. A queen's ball will follow the installation. Garden Club Slates Meet MONTAGUE The first meeting of the new year slated by the Shasta Valley Garden Club of Montague will be Friday, Jan. 6, at 12:30 p.m., in the club room of the Montague Auditorium. In charge of arrangements for the potluck luncheon to be served prior to the business session and program is Mrs. Mary Lilly, who will be assisted by Mrs. Grace Leavers. Mrs. Mary Lemos and Mrs. Allie Moore. Following the business session, which will be conducted by the president, Mrs. Rita Prather, films on roses and lawns will be shown. They are grandchildren of J. E. House of Lan gell Valley. Santa Visits Bly Children BLY Nineteen happy children were greeted by Santa Claus and presented a 'gift on Dec. 21 at Bly. The occasion for the visit was the annual Christmas party of the Bly Women's Club held at the home of Roberta McGee. Santa, whose presence was ar ranged by Herb Hadley, sat on an elaborate throne while the youngsters sang several Christ mas songs. Gifts were exchanged among the 28 women present for the party. The next club meeting will be Wednesday. Jan. 11, at the home of Bell Cobb. is a feature of the unit and ex penses are shared by members. The next meeting will be Jan. 12 at I'M p.m. at the home of Mrs. Jack Larsen. Members are asked to save the labels and tags from new garments to be used in the fabric identification proj ect in January. CHRISTMAS DINNER LANGELL VALLEY Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hricziscse entertained with a dinner at their home on Christmas Day. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hricziscse and Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Hricziscse, all of Klamath Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Spillane, Sheila. John, Patricia. Gene and Maurice of Langell Valley. Founders Day Noted By DAR YREKA A Christmas party and the celebration of Founder's Day highlighted the December! meeting of the Siskiyou Chapter,! Daughters of the American Revo-I lution, held at the Yreka Inn. Regent Atlanta Adams presided Devotions were led by Chaplain Mrs. William Ensele, followed with the salute to the flag and singing of the Star Spangled Ban ner. Mrs. Jess DeAvilla read the president general's message. After giving the national de fense report, Mrs. Lawrence Li chens urged every member to read and study all articles rela tive to the subject whenever pub lished. A report by the museum committee disclosed that the ex hibit currently on display at the Siskiyou County Museum had been taken care of by Mrs. Alfred Crebbin, Mrs. Albert Parrot and Mrs. Ted Skillen. Mrs. Lichens, temporary treas urer, gave a report on the amount collected from the passing of the birthday plate at the last meet ing. Mrs. Crebbin, registrar, re ported that two new members had been confirmed by the Na tional Society in Washington, D.C. They are Mrs. Charles Page of Grenada and Mrs. Charles Hur ley of Yreka. The Christmas program for t h e afternoon had been prepared by Mrs. Alfred Crebbin. Adding to the Christmas atmosphere, was music played by records. An ac count on the founding of the Sis kiyou Chapter was given by Mrs. Albert Parrot, who was already a member in an Oregon chapter. Mrs.' Walter Williams, who had served as regent in a Santa Clara chapter, was appointed organizing regent for the Siskiyou group. Other members participating in the organizing of the chapter in cluded Mrs. Lottie Ball. Mrs. Vance Brown, Mrs. Willard Cald well, Mrs. Alfred Crebbin, Mrs. Edward Dreyer, Mrs. Robert Dunn, Mrs. S. Clinton Jackson,! Anna Grisez, Mrs. Ida Martin, Betty Seymour Robinson, Mrs. James Rohrer, Mrs. George Schradcr, Mrs. May Stevens and Mrs. Lemuel Slteppard. Other charter members were Atlanta Adams, Mrs. Ruth Proctor, Mrs. William Newton. Ann Parrott (Wa terman) and Mrs. Clifford Butler. Those present at the party In addition to those participating in the program, included Mrs. Ted Skillen, Mrs. Lottie Ball, Mrs. V. C. Derham, Mrs. Edward Cal loway, Mrs. Robert Denure and Mrs. Ray Luce, all of Scott Val ley; Mrs. Clyde Turner and Mrs. Rosamond Westover all of Yre ka; Mrs. RayEUer of Montague, and Mrs. Henry Terwilliger of Little Shasta.
