PAGZ tA Boy Or Girl? Doesn't Matter By ANN LANDERS Dear Ann Landers: This may sound nutty, but I do need your help. I am 13 years old and have uecil s-anjiufj on correspon dence with a Japanese pen pal whose name is Ma- sako Obara. Lyti The trouble is. don t know whether Masako is a boy or a girl. My mother says it would be yery impolite to ask "Are you a m nr eirl?" I have writ ten Masako three letters and have received three letters in return. What shall I do now?-C. E. Dear C. ' Dear Ann Landers: Any gal who thinks women have equal rights in this country is just kid ding herself. If a man's trousers are too tight he's just put on weight. If a woman's skirt is too tight she's trying to be sexy. If a man stands on a corner, he's getting fresh air. If a woman docs it she's looking to be picked , up. If a man has one drlnk too many, "it slipped up on him" if a woman gets a little bit tight she's a lush. If hubby has a night out with the boys, he's entitled to il. If his wife has a naht nut with the elrls. she's up to no good and ought to be at home with her tamuy. : A male who has a minor auto- mnhilo accident can tell vou ex actly what went wrong mechan ically with tne car. a iemaie who bangs a fender or loses a hnartlinhl in a IntlSV driver. : If a man philanders and Is caught at it, he s misunaersiooa nt tinme nnd is orobablv married to a cold fish; A woman who has an affair is a tramp, an unfit mother nnd should be tossed Out en her posterior. If the kids turn eut good they are a chip off (he old block. If they turn but fcad,' their mother did a rotten Job because after all, the mother spends most of her time with the kids and it's her influence that is felt.-BIG LAUGH V Dear Ann Landers: I'm proud of my husband but whenever he has to say a few words in public Granger Am HIS MMTNIH -1 Mm E I I iirtint LSeyshauohnessy w?limilHllWriiBw-raiwi twml ONIMktCOlX COLO bv DE LUX OmHrujw from 12:4 f-M. Kennedy caps a banner year, for the arrivals of news-making male babies in five capitals of the world. , Princes were born in tngland Japan, Belgium and Iran in 1960. Kennedy had talked like he was counting on a son. Last Septem ber he told campaign crowds, "my wife is at home having a baby, a boy, in November." But to the Shah of Iran, who was expecting a family addition earlier this year, the question of whether the baby would be a boy or a girl was of vital importance. Iran had been waiting since the shah's first marriage in 1941 for a royal son to carry on the mon archy. The shah finally got a male heir on Oct. 31 after three mar riages. His second wife, Soraya, was beautiful and devoted. But after eight years of marriage, he Trade Pact Offer Seen BERLIN (AP)-West Germany is expected to make an offer soon to reinstate its trade pact with Communist East Germany, can celed in reprisal for the Red squeeze on Berlin. The question of concessions from East Germans on the Berlin is sue is being soft-pedaled. The West Germans appear to have dropped any idea of pressing for new East, ern guarantees. Thus the East Germans will have gained a small but symbolic right to issue passes to East Bcr lin and given the West nothing in return. The West is caught in this dilemma if it asks the East Ger mans to loosen their squeeze, it boosts Rod prestige. The two parts of the country do not have official relations Trade is handled on the West German side by a specially cre ated "trusteeship'' with headquar ters in West Berlin. East German Communists have taken the position that since' the West Germans canceled the pact, it is up to their trusteeship to make a new offer. Indications are that the offer, when it comes, will simply seek to restore the situation as it existed, before the cancellation Sept. .30. Gold Group Heads Home LONDON (AP)-The U.S. eco nomic mission led by Treasury Secretary Robert B.
