The remaining 825,000 tree seed lings and 1,850 pounds of tree seed will be used to reforest old burns and recent cutover areas on state lands in eight different counties. State forest lands in Clatsop County amounting to some 887 acres will be planted to Douglas fir and spruce tree seedlings; an additional 310 acres will be seeded to Douglas fir while 3j acres will be planted with 16, 000 tree seedlings. Lane County state lands will re ceive some 35,000 seedlings on 40 acres. About 100 acres will also be seeded. In Lincoln County state forest lands amounting to 275 acres will be planted to 240,800 tree seedlings. The following state lands will also be reforested: Mar ion, 45 acres to 35,000 seedlings; Klamath, 260 acres to 11,000 pon derosa pine, and Deschutes, 50 acres and 27,000 trees. 4-H NEWS PIONEER BEEF CLUB The first meeting of the Tio- neer Beef Club was held on Nov. 2. Officers elected into office are Glenn Howard, president: Karl Kerns, vice president; Cecelia Kerns, secretary: Donna Colwell, treasurer; Lee Holliday, report cr, and Joey Kerns, sergeant-at arms. A new member is Scott John-I son. Lee Holliday, News Reporter, HENLEY BEEF CUB At this meeting of the, Henley Beef Club the club had a film courtesy of Albers Feed Store. It was about the feeding, condition ing and quality of 4-11 steers. It was about the grooming of calves for the fair. Feeding problems of the club members were discussed. Mem bers were advised on what they should feed their calves. Record books were handed out to the members to be filled out each meeting. Mr. Chcyne told us that we should have our calves in and on feed by next meeting. We are going to weigh them next meeting. New members present for this meeting were Larry Petersen, Bobby Helmer, Tony Flagg, San dy Woodard, Judy Hollistcr, Sher ry Breithaupt, Sheryl Anderson, David Cheync, and Scott Rice. Other members present were: Don Breithaupt, Bill Taylor, Steve Cheyne, Robert Ritter, Karen Dix on, Carolyn Brower, Neal Buch anan, Phillip Dixon, Lila Ritter, Bob Brower and Steve Dixon. Parents present for the meeting were the leader, Mr. Alvin Cheyne, Mr. Browner, Mrs. Buchanan, Mrs. Dixon, Mr. Helmer, Mr. Rit ter, Mr. Anderson, and Mr. and Mrs. Goode. Refreshments were served at the end of the meeting by Mrs. Goode. The next meeting will be at the home of Scott Rice on Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m. Lila Ritter, News Reporter.
