of the best experiences of the
day.
Start breakfast with a steaming
baked apple, rosy and tart. Or.
cook cranberries and apples to
gether to make a tempting break
fast fruit combination to serve
warm with a sprinkling ot nut
meg.
Another way to use favorite
fruits of autumn at breakfast is
in quick breads. Almost any
freshly baked hot bread will give
breakfast an added interest. When
you choose these sparkling fruit
ed muffins, enthusiasm at the
breakfast table is assured.
Top bran muffins with a dol
lop of whole cranberry sauce for
a ruby-red accent in a meal of
orange sections, corn flakes with
milk and sugar, and cocoa or cof
fee. For a variation, tuck the
cranberry sauce in between
spoonfuls of batter when filling
the muffin cups.
Spicy Applesauce Bran Muffins
enhance breakfast or brunch.
Pass honey and butter with the
hot muffins, and round out break
fast with grapefruit juice, oven-
toasted rice cereal with milk and
sugar, grilled pork link sausages,
and milk or coffee to drink.
CRANBERRY BRAN MUFFINS
1 cup whole bran cereal
i cup milk

V cup soft shortening
1 cup sifted flour
2'i teaspoons baking powder
4 teaspoon salt

6 tablespoons whole cranber

Combine whole bran cereal and
quenlly, until evenly browned, milk; let stand until most of
