' Helen Dwyer uat appointed this week by Sov. Mark 0. Hatfield to the Advisory Council to the State Board of Nursing. Mrs. Dwyer, a licensed practi cal nurse will serve from October 27, I960, to August 15, 1964. Her formal acceptance has been re turned to the governor's office. All but the District of Columbia provide for the licensing of prac tical nurses. Licensed Practical Nurses work with and under the supervision of registered nurses. There are now 30.000 members of the LPN, a group of dedicated women with its goal higher education stan dards, continuing cooperative work with allied groups and the public to improve health of the community and county, at the same time seeking recognition through the State Board of Nurs ing by representation on the State Advisory Council. Mrs. Dwyer is a past presi dent of Area No. B LPNs which has a registration of 65 mem bers.
