a witness at a Department of Ag
riculture Hearing on Ihe govern.
ment's proposal to cut rates for
storing surplus and price-support
grain.
The proposed reduction would
he about 19 per cent. Operators
of grain elevators opposed it at
the two-day hearing which began
Wednesday.
Another witness Thursday was
Harold E. Stanford of Portland
Ore., a director of the' Continen
tal Grain Co. Stanford said a con.
gressional committee, which held
three witnesses and used their
testimony lo imply lhat all grain
storage men make big profits.

Mrs. Woods called police on a
neighbor's telephone, and a mag
istrate ordered Woods lo pay (he
