Laki ('OMiinlmity Presbyterian Church Sunday. March 27. His talk will follow a 6:30 p.m. family style pot luck supper. The Reverend Peck, who has Just returned from Italy, has in formation and knowledge of Eu rope gathered during live years residence in Italy. He is sponsored by the Great er Europe Mission, and as direo or of the interdenominational Bi ble Institute in Home, he has worked closely with various Protes tant leaders and churches of that land. He was accompanied abroad by Mrs. Peck and children. "Since the close of World War II." he says, "Italy has made cunstant march toward complete religious freedom for all faiths. The fioal has not been entirely reached, but great strides are be ins made in spite of obvious dif licullies." The greatest impending danger. lie says, lo world missions is the economic challenge of the Com munist block and a united Europe. Isinely per cent of Protestant mis sions are manned and financed from North America. Should this nation stumble economically, the entire program of proclaiming the gospel to the -ends of the earth will be threatened with collapse The Reverend Peck is also a foreign correspondent for Christian Lile magazine. He was graduated Irom Whcaton College, Whealon, Illinois, and earned a B.D. degree at Northern Baptist Seminary, Chi cago. He pastored a church for five years on Chicago's west side before leaving for work in Europe. - Anyone interested is invited to hear the speaker. Spike Heels Dent Floor LOUISA, Va. (API Those sharp little heels the girls wear these days are threatening to wreck the junior-senior prom at Louisa Coun ty High School. Principal W. D.. Meredith and the faculty ruled the girls can't wear such heels at the prom in the gymnasium. They dent the floor. All right, said the girls, kicking up their heels we won't go to the prom. Meredith, hard put to visualize a girl-less prom, took his knotty problem lo the school board Thursday. The board walked skittishly around the issue. Exercise "due diligence" in care of the gym floor, said the board. That's all. Board Chairman J. C. Whitlock said in his view "the big question is how women stand up on those heels. If they can stand the shoes. I don't think we should have any objection to their wearing them." Perplexed, Meredith said he and the faculty would study the ques tion again next Thursday. Special Services Youth of the Klamalh Falls Sev enth Day Adventist Church wMI be featured in special services March 26. Elder Ii. C. Schwartz, local con ference youth leader of the Sev enth Day Adventist Church in Ore gon, will be one of the guest speakers during the rally. He has announced that during the week of March 19-26 youth services have been held in many of the 115 churches in the Oregon confer ence. Elder J. H. Hancock, union youth leader, who has charge of the five Northwest states in youth activities, will also be present lo speak, challenging youth lo be aware at all times of the needs of the present and to do the work that is entrusted to the church by young people.
