I SOCIETY By Helen Bechen THE BETROTHAL of Mary Jane Oehlerich and Bill Carl Osborne is announced this week by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Oehlerich of Tulelake. Both young people are graduates of Tulelake High School. The bride-to-be attend ed Southern Oregon College and this year is a sophomore student in elementary education at Shasta Junior College. Her fiance, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Osborne, also of Tule lake, is a sophomore at the University of Nevada and is majoring in veterinary science. He is affiliated with Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. No wedding date has been set. She is a graduate of Klamath Union High School and attended Oregon State College and the University of Portland. The future bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Dodson Sr. of Redding. He was grad uated from Shasta High School and served four years with the Air Force during which time he attended a route traffic control specialist school in Oklahoma City. He is presently employed by the Federal Aviation Administration in Oak land, California. Smith was announced at a traditional Pi Seta Phi cookie jhine on the Oregon State College campus February 25. A silver and white color scheme was used for floral decorations and refreshments. A candle, encircled with white roses and holding the ring, was passed in the traditional manner. The bride-to-be, daughter of Mr. end Mrs. Fred Goeller, it sophomore at Oregon State College and majoring in science education. Her fiance is a senior in social science at South ern Oregon College. Rajnus were united in marriage on Saturday afternoon, February 20, at 2 o'clock in the Ml. Laki Community Presbyterian Church. The impressive double ring cere mony was read by the Rev. An drew Jarvis in the presence of members of the immediate fami lies and relatives. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Longhofer of Hen ley and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Rajnus of Malin. Escorted by her father, who gave her in marriage, the bride was lovely in a bouffant gown of silk tulle over white satin fash ioned with a fitted bodice and a rounded neckline edged in a ruf fle of the tulle. The long sleeves tapered at the wrist. Down t h e back of the lavishly full skirt, which ended in a chapel length train, were tiers of ruffles. A lace cap embellished with seed pearls held her fingertip veil of matching tulle edged with seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of pink rosebuds and white carna tions with accents of white sat in ribbon. The bridal gown be longed to the bridegroom's sister, loaned for this special occasion. Vocal soloist, .Mrs. Bonnie Fin chum, sang "At Dawning"' and "The Wedding Prayer" accompa nied at the organ by Mrs. Eileen Herringshaw, who also played the wedding marches. Matron of honor was Mrs. John Lilly and bridesmaids were Bev erly Longhofer, the bride's sister, and Frances Schmeck. They wore matching waltz length dresses ol embroidered taffeta, the matron of honor in sky blue and the bridesmaids in pink. The full skirt was gathered onto a dropped waistline with the neckline outlined in a band of the same material. ending in a V in the back and trimmed with a soft bow. They carried bouquets of matching car nations with satin ribbon accents the contrasting color. White turd shoes, gloves and velvet head bands complemented their pretty dresses. . ) Dainty little flower glifl was Pa tricia bvans, daughter -ol Mr. ana Mrs. Arthur Evans, and the bride groom's niece. She wore a full skirted dress of pink . nylon or gandy embroidered in blue around the neck. Her hat was of match ing material in a bonnet style. Best man was Ron Kalina and ushers were Denny Holl and Jer ry Longhofer, the bride's brother. The ushers were also candlelight- crs. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Longhofer wore an afternoon dress of deep blue and white print with matching jacket and while accessories. Mi's. Rajnus chose an afternoon dress of jonquil silk and matching accessories. Both moth ers wore orchid corsages to match their costumes. After the church ceremony a reception was held in the church social room. Cutting the beautiful ly decorated cake was Mrs. Clar ence Chrislensen, sister of t h e bride, assisted by Mrs. Brooks Kendall, who also carried the guest book. At the coffee service was Sherrill Schiro and serving punch was Carolyn Coble. Later in the day Mr. and Mrs. Rajnus entertained the bridal par ty and relatives at a buffet supper at their lovely home in Malin. After a honeymoon trip to San Francisco, Carine! and Squaw Val ley, the young couple will be at home in Malin where the bride groom is associated in farming op erations wilh his father. For go ing away the new Mrs. Rajnus chose a gray and pink tweed suit wilh bone accessories. The bride is a graduate of Hen V f: REVEALED this week by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henry Read of the Crystal Springs Road is the engagement of their daughter, Sally Mae, to Lyte David Fowler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fowler of Coos Bay, The future bride will be graduated from Henley High School in June. Her fiance will be graduated from Oregon Technical Institute this year as a commercial artist. Their wedding will take plec June) 18 in St. Pius X Catholic Church.
