RICHARD BAUER Photo by DaMers Photo Shop, Yreka &ue,-W annin 9 U OW5 YREKA Marilyn Kay Manning and Richard Donald Bauer ex changed their nuptial vows on Sun day afternoon, January 31, at the Yreka Methodist Church before the altar which was flanked with baskets of white chrysanthemums and lighted candelabra. Approxi mately 75 guests were present at the 2 o'clock double ring ceremony read by the Rev. Harold C. Cole man. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Manning of Yreka. and the bridegroom is the Son "of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bauer of Albany, California. j Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace over while satin with bouffant ckirt and fitted bodice featuring a portrait neckline, embroidered with sequins, and. long -sleeves pointed at the wrists. A sequin studded crown held a fingertip veil of illusion. A white orchid nestled in the center of the cascade bou quet of stephanotis, tied with white satin ribbons, which, cen tered the white mother of pearl Bible she carried. Beverly Dittner of San Francis co was maid of honor, and Gloria Manning, sister of the bride, and Louise Hitchcock, served as bridesmaids. Identical gowns, worn by all attendants, were of royal blue nylon chiffon over taf feta, fashioned with full skirts, and featuring snug bodices banded in matching satin trim, and full three quarter length sleeves. Bandeaus of blue velvet leaves studded with pearls held the brief circle veils, and they carried nosegays of baby chrysanthemums and stephanotis tied with royal blue satin ribbon. Serving as best man was Mar vin Geistlinger of Albany, and guests were seated by Dick Day of Berkeley, Ken Santos and Leo Boulla, both of Albany.. Judy Moore played traditional wedding music and accompanied the soloist, Wilma Parker, who tang "The Lord's Prayer," and "I Love You Truly." Immediately following the cere mony, a reception was held in the social rooms of the church, where guests were received by the newly weds and their mothers. Mrs. Man ning chose a blue sheath dress complemented with pink accesso ries. Mrs. Bauer wore a beige silk shirtwaist dress, accented with brown accessories. Corsages of white chrysanthemums were worn by both mothers. Crystal pillars and miniature white swans separated the four tiers of the wedding cake, which was topped with a white ruffled Heart'. After the first slice by the newlyweds it was served -by Mrs, D. Cooper of Stockton, and Mrs. E. B. Trefry, formerly of Yreka, now residing in Eugene. " - Delanne Pilliard and Sheryl El lis presided at the punch bowls. while guests were registered by Sandy Neweomber, of Redding, a cousin of the bride. After the reception, the new Mr, and Mrs. Bauer left for a honey moon after which they will cslab lish their new home in Eureka For traveling the bride chose a green sheath dress, complemented with' black "accessories and the or chid corsage from her bridal bouquet. The new Mrs. Bauer was gradu- aled in 1959 from Yreka High School and attended Shasta Jun ior College in Redding. Couple Wed In Home Rites WEED Beauty baskets of while gladioli banked the fireplace in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Car men Mazzei for the wedding of Mary Rose Scalise and Arthur W, Lipscomb Saturday evening, Jan uary 30. Judge Kenneth T. Stone per formed the 8 o'clock ceremony witnessed by over 30 friends and relatives of the couple. Recordings ofx wedding selections as back ground music highlighted the home wedding ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Scalise and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lipscomb of Carey wood, Idaho. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was gowned in a waltz length dress of white lace and ny Ion net, fashioned with a Sabrina neckline, three quarter sleeves. and the skirt detailed with alter nating tiers of lace and net ruf fles. Her veil fell from a coronet of pearls and she carried a cas cade bouquet of pink rosebuds and stephanotis. Antoinette Scalise, maid of hon or for her sister, wore a rose col ored nylon lace frock and car ried a cascade arrangement of pink rosebuds. Joseph Scalise, the bride's only brother, was best man. The guest book was attended by Jcanette Mazzei. During the re ccption immediately following the wedd'ng riles, petite Linda Aiello passed pastel candies and wed ding tokens tied in net and ar ranged on heart motifs, from a white satin covered basket accent ed with. two red roses. "Mary and Bill" was inscribed on the heart motif. A five tiered wedding cake cen tered an attractively appointed bridal table. Following the tradi tional cutting of the first serving by the bride and bridegroom, it was served by Jose Scalise, a sis ter of the bride, and a friend, Mrs, Pete Aiello. The entire ceremony was tape recorded by Mr. and Mrs. Mazzei and presented as a wedding gift to the newlyweds. The bride is a graduate of both the Weed schools and is presently manager of the Sprouse Reitz Store. The bridegroom, employed by International Paper Company, is a graduate of Burrough High School of China Lake, California, and is a Marine veteran. The newlyweds are making their home in the Cascade Apartments having returned this week from their honeymoon travels to Mon terey, Carmel, Squaw Valley and Reno. w x . y I ji-- 13 K A A I v - I : V . , m t 1 I 11 BETA SIGMA PHI BETA PHI CHAPTER The last regular meeting of Beta Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi was held at the home of Barbara Kimes on February 2. President Pat Lukes presided. A general discussion was held on the forthcoming Beta Sigma Phi convention to be held in Roschurg in May. A nominating committee was also chosen. The program, "Express Your self," was presented by Ena Rod- gcrs. Refreshments were served by Barbara Kimes and co-hoslesscs Jean Bingham and Shirley Bisscll. At the January 19 meeting of the group at the home of Jana Rumel hart, 23 members were present. Pauline Connor was chosen as Valentine princess to represent the MR. AND MRS. ARTHUR W. In addi tion to the host and hostess, those present were Mr. and Mrs. Emery Cook and son of Alturas; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wells and family, Mrs. Margaret Waterhouse and daughter, and Dwayne Methvin ourners Sojourners Club met for its reg ular meeting at the Willard Hotel on February 10. Welcomed as first time guests were Mrs. W. G. Nero, Mrs. Steve Poup, Mrs. E. A. Vatow and Mrs. Donald Bower. Mrs. W. K. Ostlund was a second time guest and present for the third time were Mrs. C. C. Pinneo, Mrs. Fred Waybright and Kay Garri son. Mrs. Marie Drazel was a special guest. Prize winners in bridge were Mrs. Charles Dakin and Mrs. Wil liam Bray and in canasta, Mrs. Don Ritzel. Kay Garrison held high score in pinochle. The next meeting will be on Feb ruary 24 at the Willard Hotel. The club invites all women who have resided in Klamath Falls and vicinity two years or less to attend and become members. Regular meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Champagne cocktails, served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Ecclcs, were followed by a main course at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stevenson, 203S Leroy Slreet, where 13 members and their husbands were served by .Mr. and Mrs. Dale Goode and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Murphy. The mas sive table was decorated with yel low roiebuds, the sorority flower, and were compliments of the Ste vensons. He is well known in the valley for his cutting horses and his collection of trophies was of inlercst to the group. The dessert course was held at Ihe home of .Mr. and Mrs. Matt Christian where the group alio spent Ihe evening dancing. Guests for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson and Mr. and Mis.
