Mrs. Del mar Haskins. singing "0 Promise Me" and "Because." The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a ballerina length gown of white lace over tafiela fashioned with a full skirt and three quarter length sleeves. She wore a finger tip veil of illusion held in place by a crowned hat and carried a white Bible lopped with a white orchid and lily of the valley streamers. For something old she carried a lace handkerchief: something borrowed, a pair of pearl ear rings. She also wore the tradi tional blue garter and an Eng lish sixpence in her shoe. The matron of honor was Sirs. Lawrence Golchy, sister of the bride, who was gowned in a lav ender dress of raw silk comple mented will) a pink hat and pink satin slippers. Her corsage was of pink, rosebuds and baby car-: nations. Attending the bridegroom was Clifford Turner, Malin, brother of the bride. L'shers were Jess Mat thews, Merrill, uncle of the bride, and Russell Wilson, Portland, cousin of the bridegroom. For her daughter's wedding. Mrs. Barkhurst wore a light beige dress with brown velvet hat and matching accessories. The mother of the bridegroom chose a navy blue ensemble with matching accessories. Both moth ers wore corsages of pink rose buds. A reception was held in the church recreation room where a three tiered wedding cake baked and decorated by Claude H i h bcrls of Morrill was served to the wedding guests by Mrs. Frances Brandenberg. At the coffee serv ice was Mrs. John Turner. Mrs. Jess Matthews presided at the punch bowl. The guest book was attended by JoAnn Turner. The bride is a graduate of Mer rill High School. The bridegroom, a graduate of Stephens High School, Minnesota, has ranching irteresls in Minnesota. At the present time, the newlyweds are making their home in Merrill. Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wilson, Port land, and Mrs. H. B. Lyman Sr.. Stephen, Minnesota. Poole, pastor of the Church of . Christ. Chrysanthemums and gladioli In shades of tangerine and white dec orated the church for the evening ceremony witnessed by 60 guests. The bride, escorted to the altar by her stepfather, wore a baller ina length gown of white lace with a shoulder length illusion veil. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. Janet Phillips, maid of honor, was dressed in a frock of light blue taffeta with matching hat and carried tangerine colored chrysanthemums. William Wolford was best man and ushers were Xaxier Rames and John Larson, all of Kingsley Field. Mrs. Dvorak chose for her daugh ter's wedding an olive green wool dress worn with tan accessories and a corsage of yellow rosebuds. ten A wedding reception followed the ceremony in the church par lors. Assisting were Mrs. Zelda Phillips, Mrs. Irene Harrison and Mrs. Olive Hale. Janet Henninger was in charge of the guest book, The newlyweds spent their hon eymoon along the California coast. For traveling Mrs. Bearden select ed a two piece black suit with white accessories and the corsage Irom her bridal bouquet. She is a graduate ' of Klamath Union High School where she was a member of Pelicanettes, Rainbow Girls and Future Business Leaders. Her hus bend is stationed with the Air Force at Kingsley Air Base. They are residing at 5C5 North Ninth Street. Out-of-town guests included Mr and Mrs. Henry Hendrickson of Newell and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Pagliarulo of Crescent City The bride was honored prior to her marriage at two showers, one given by Janet Phillips and an other by the Rainbow Girls. The young couple was mar ried December 27 in the First Presbyterian Church in Salem with the Rev. S. Raynor Smith officiating. Best man for his brother was Paul Micka of The Dalles. Mr. and Mrs. Micka, Bob Micka, Rich ard's brother, and his wife, all of Malin, attended the wedding. The newlyweds are in their sen ior year at Oregon State College. Linda attended high school in Bend and Richard is a graduate of Ma lin High School. "Betrothal . Is Made Known LAKEVIEW - Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Mautz of Lakeview have announced the engagement of their daughter, Ann, to Richard Uphoff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Uphoff of Woodburn, Oregon. A graduate of Lakeview High School, the bride-elect will re ceive her nursing degree from the University of Oregon Medical School in Portland in June. Her fiance is manager of a Union Oil Service Station in Suthctiin. WEED The later December meeting of Wabeno Council 231 degree of Pocahontas, was cli iviaxed by a holiday covered dish dinner and exchange of secret pal Christmas gifts. Mrs. Alma Killingsworth, Poca hontas, presided during the business session and the members voted to donate a yule tide food basket to the Forrester family whose home was burned out prior to the holiday season. Mrs. Virginia Anderson re ceived the delegate award of the evening and the quilt given away by the council went to Shirley Renning. New names for 1960 secret pals were drawn and playing cards i,nd visiting were enjoyed by the members attending. Hostess committee for the eve ning included Mrs. Nellie Del .Nero, Mrs. Silvia Cardoza, Mrs. Esther Aquila and Mrs. Geneva Hildrclh. Surprise Party Marks Birthday Mrs. W. P. Myers, Lakeshore Drive, was surprised on January 16 when friends and neighbors ar rived with refreshments and gifts in honor of her 84th birthday. Mrs. Myers was born January 13 in Clarksburg, Virginia, left there early in life and did not return until during World War II to see her .birthplace. She has de voted much of her life to teach ing, politics, public progress, and the business world. Since 1923 until January 1 she owned and operated Lakeshore Gardens Nursery.
