He was owner of the Pastime Tavern at Bly until recently. Mr. Bollman will be remembered by his neigh bors for his enthusiastic lupport of any activity for community betterment. He died six days before his 73rd birthday. Dr. Finch Will Take Stand As Trial Resumes Monday LOS AN'GKLES (LTD Dr. R.islate'i first witness hrce weeks Ex-Resident Given Post Mr. and Mrs. Harry Larson, 1933 Melrose Street, have received word that their son, Darrell Lar son, has been elected to the board of directors of the Tri-City Cham ber of Commerce for West Linn, Gladstone and Oregon City. Darrell Larson is a 1943 sraduale ef KUUS and received his CPA certificate from the University of Oregon in 1051. lie is married, has two sons, and is employed as an accountant by the Publish ers' Paper Company at Oregon City. Another son, KenneUi W. Lar on, graduated from KUIIS in 1944, is an attorney practicing in San Francisco. The Larsons' third son, Ronald, Is a geologist wilh the U.S. Army Engineer Corps, stationed at Eu gene. Lester, the youngest son, is ma joring in dentistry at Portland State College. He is a former carrier for Herald and News and graduated from KUHS in 1950. The Larsons have been residents of Klamath Falls since 1041. They also have five daughters. Bernard Finch is expected to go on the witness stand following re sumption of his and Carole Tie coft's murder trial Monday and tell for the first time about the slaying of his wife. The suave, 42-year-old surgeon has never publicly (old his version of the July 18 meeting outside his $65,000 suburban home which end ed with Barbara Jean Finch, 33, lying dead on the lawn wilh a bul let wound in her back. His attorney, Giant Cooper, has indicated Finch will say the shootine was accidental in a struggle for a gun which Mrs. Finch had in her car. Finch's co-defendant and admit ted mistress, Carole Tregoft, 23, said she and Finch went to meet Mrs. Finch that fatal night to talk to her about her pending divorce suit. Miss Tregoff said she ran from the scene before the shoot ing. Cooper said that barring a change in the state s plans to complete its case by next Tuesday- he will begin his testimony Wednesday. The ease was recessed Tuesday until Monday when a juror and one of the prosecution's few re maining witnesses, Municipal Judge Albert H. Miller, became .Miller presided at the prelim inary hearing ot mien. Further possible delay of the trial may come about because of Caryl Chessman's appeal to es cape execution at San Quentin. Judge Walter Evans who is pre siding at the Finch trial sat on the Chessman case when a tran script was made and may be sub penaed to appear in San Fran cisco at Chessman's appeal. Pretty Marie Anne Lidholm, 19, returned to the witness stand Tuesday to read a portion of a letter she had written to her mother in Sweden telling about death threats Finch made almost two months before his wife was killed. In the letter dated May 23, 1959, the pert maid said: "During the night Dr. Finch tried to kill Mrs. Finch who now absolutely wanted to have her di vorce. Mrs. Finch told me every thing in the morning. He had hit her and she had fallen against the corner ot the hedside table and got a deep cut in her temple. He had tried to make her dress and had tried to1 get her out in the car which he Ihrcatencd to drive over the ridge where there is an abrupt descent. "He also told her that if she didn't take everything back about the divorce he had a man in Las Vegas whom he would pay thou sands of dollars to kill her." Miss Lidholm had been the ago. She testified then of finding Finch standing over his wife in the garage with a gun in his hand and chasing her across the lawn She also told of the death threats which the defense attempt cd in cross examination to dis credit by suggesting that perhaps her memory was vague or mis taken about them. Her return to the witness stand Tuesday with the letter which her mother had returned from Goteburg fully backed up her earlier testimony. Two other witnesses were news men, Gene Tuttle, then news edi tor for the Las Vegas Review Journal and Alan Jarlson, a staff writer for the Las Vegas Sun. Both said Las Vegas authorities had told them Miss Tregoff was under arrest July 19. PROP WASH By HAROLD JONES City Airport Manager II. O. Dates will be announced soon by Maury Clark, president, Klamath Chapter Oregon Pilots Association. Aviation Week will be combined as in the past with Armed Forces Day at Kingslcy Field. Loyd E. "Pappy" Newlun has been named general chairman for the second annual "Oldtimers Night" at the February 20 meet ing of the Pilots to be held at the Airport Cafe. Oldtimers who grew up with aviation in the Klam ath Basin will be contacted and in vited to attend the meeting. One hundred and twenty two were present last year. A new committee to work witn city and county officials, tne Klamath County Chamber of Com merce and the Air Force at King- sley Field to coordinate interest and understanding in aviation will be headed by Juckcland.
