AND MRS, ANTHONY LEE ADAMS Phofo by Coquille Studio doauille Cliurcli cene The Pioneer Methodist Church of Coquille was the scene for the November 29 ceremony in' which Britta Louise Nelson of Myrtle Point exchanged wedding vows with Anthony Lee "Dulfy" Adams of Tulelake at two thirty in tne afternoon. The Rev. Neil Fisher of the Community Church of Bridge officiated. For the double rin? ceremony the bride designed and niHde a floor length gown of white satin with lace appliques. A pearl and fequin crown held a fingertip veil of tulle edged with lace. A neck lace of pearls was a gift of the bridegroom. The bridal bouquet was fashioned of red roses and ardenias. Dorothy Nelson was maid of honor for her sister. She wore a red velvet sheath dress with matching tunic and a corsage ol gardenias. Red velvet sheaths with white lace tiered overskirts were worn by the bridesmaids, Fayc Adams, Kay Tarvcr and Paula Lancaster. They carried long i . o Of r ANNOUNCED by Mr. and Mri. Bill Page of Gilchritt is the engagement of their daughter, Patricia Jeanne, to Hubert R. Graves. He it the ion of Mr. and Mri. D. R. Graves, also of Gilchrist. The bride-elect is a 1959 graduate of Gilchrist High School. Her fiance is em ployed by Gilchrist Timber Company. No date hat been set for the wedding. OIVS stemmed red roses. Allison McCar ley was flower girl. The bridegroom's brother, T. Michael Adams, was best man. Ushers were Herhet Schlccht, Larry Hundley and Terry Shrrrill. Candlelightcrs were Steven Koch and Gloria Hardman. Mrs. A. Albertson sang "0 Promise Me" and "The Lord's Prayer." The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. .Nelson of Myrtle Point. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie L. Adams of Tulelake are parents of the bridegroom. Both mothers were dressed In beige lace gowns with gardenia corsages pinned at the shoulders. Following a reception in the church social rooms the newlyweds left lor a wedding trip aloni! the coast. For traveling the new Mrs. Adams wore a beige wool suit with brown accessories and the gardenias Irom her bouquet. She s a graduate of Myrtle Point )igh School. Her husband was graduated from Tulelake High School and attended the Univer- iiy of Oregon. He is presently at tending Shasta Junior College in Itedding where the young couple w'll reside. w twins SUGAR PLUM Christmas fashions will delight every little girl who is looking for ward to a party and is concerned with what she will wear. Steamed Pudding Steamed Date Pudding is an unusual dessert that is sure to please family or guests. Chewy slice of fresh California dates are blended into a batter with finely graled raw carrot, raw potato and chopped almonds to give interest ina flavor and texture. These naturally sweet, fresh Cal ifornia dales, that come from the desert region of Southern Califor nia, impart a deep, rich flavor to this delicious dessert. STKA.MKD DATK PUDDING 1 cup fresh California dates Is cup shortening 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cap finely grated raw car rot 1 cup finely grated raw pota to 1" cups sifted all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon soda "4 teaspoon salt 4 cup chopped almonds Tit and slice dates. Cream short ening, sugar and vanilla together until light and fluffy. Blend in car rot and potato. Sift flour with soda and salt, and blond into first mixture. Stir in dates and nuts Turn into greased 2-quart mold and cover closely. Place in large ket tle of boiling water, cover keltic lightly, and steam in continuously boiling water for 2 hours. (Water should come halfway up pudding mold.) Remove from kettle, let stand 5 to 10 minutes, and invert over serving plate to remove from mold. Serve hot, with hard sauce, vanilla sauce or with whipped crram. But 'taint so. Gail Davis, the girl sharpshooter who plays the role of Annie in the movies and on television worries more about hit ting the right combination to lose weight. "I'm always on a diet when I'm in a show or making a movie. But when I let up for a while, wild horses can't keep me from hot fudge sundaes," says the 115 pound blue-eyed beauty, in New York to star at the rodeo of Madi son Square Garden. Gail has a roomful of equipment that spells out exercise. She has a vibrating table, bar bells, a belt massager, electric bicycle, electric hand viahrator, a beauty board. She supplements indoor exercise with outdoor exercise. "I swim in the pool, play golf, tennis, ride horses, walk and ride a bicycle," she says, with a sigh. "And I concentrate on low calorie energy foods." Gail learned how to shoot tin cans off a fence in her hometown near Little Rock, Ark., with a .22 rifle, majored in dramatics at the University of Texas, met Gene Aulry, who taught her how to shoot a pistol, went off to Holly wood where she has made 14 mov 12 in the last 10 years. "It's practice that makes perfect in shooting," Gail explains. "We had aa advantage in Arkansas. Daddy and I used to go out in the woods and hit targets, but neith o( us ever suspected I would be a gun girl. I wanted to be a nurse, and daddy who was a doc tor kept hoping I would follow him in medicine." Gail's hobby Is decorating her home in Studio City, Calif., where she lives with her husband, Rich ard Pierce, and 7-year-old daugh ter Terrie-Jean. "I'm always tearing out a wall here and there. I had a brainstorm about a year ago and decided to take out the front of the house, with a little help of coursf. Th main idea was to make the living room wider and longer. It, wai suoposed to be finished in threa months but it has taken about year." If you haven't begun such project but have been thinking about it "don't," advises Gail. "It would be better to buy another house. It takes so much out of your life to remodel one. But now here I am getting itchy fingeri all over again," she laughs. . But next time she says she will get the right person to do the job and make sure she has a firm estimate. This last job ran threa times the original estimate.
