2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
3 eggs
2 cups thick sour cream
Beat the egg yolks until light.
Add the 2 cups of sour cream to
the egg yolks. Combine the liquid
and dry ingredients. Beat until
stiff, but not dry, the 3 egg whites
and fold them into the batter. Bake
the waffles as you usually bake
waffles.

Apple Halves .
3 large apples, pared
1 cup sugar
i cup cinnamon red hots
2 cups wafer
Vi cup lemon juice
1 3-oz. package cream cheese
V4 cup chopped walnuts
green food coloring
Pare apples. Cut into halves.
combine sugar, water, cinnamon
candies, and lemon juice. Bring to
a boil and simmer until the candies
are melted. Add apple halves
cook 4 minutes, turn and cook 4 to
5 minutes longer or until apples
are tender. Remove from syrup.
Add a few drops green food color
ing to cream cheese and blend.
Form cheese into 1-inch balls; roll
in chopped nuts. Place cheese
balls in center of apple halves.
Place on bed of watercress and
serve as an accompaniment to the
holiday turkey or ham.

Use Nestle's new Butterscotch
flavored Toll House Morsels for
this recipe.
30 macaroon cookies finely
rolled (about 3 cups
crumbs)
Vi cup butter or margarine,
room temperature
1 6-ounce package Nestle's
Butterscotch Morsels
Vi cup heavy cream ,-'
2 quarts vanilla ice cream
Mix macaroon crumbs and' soft
ened butter. Divide into two' Ice
cube trays. Press firmly against
bottom and sides. Melt Butter
scotch Morsels with heavy cream
In top of double boiler over hot
water. Soften ice cream slightly
at room temperature. Pack into
crumb lined ice cube trays until
about half. full. Drizzle with about
half the caramel mixture. Fill
with remaining ice cream and driz
zle remaining sauce over the
top. Freeze until firm. To serve,
slice diagonally into pie shaped
pieces. Makes 8 to 10' servings.'
