Hound Dog Shot Works EGLIX AIR FORCE BASE, Fla (API A GAM-77 Hound Dog air-to-surface missile was launched from under the wing of a B52 Stralofortress Friday night and made a successful flight. The self-guided flight, the first for a Hound Dog, took it to a pre determined spot hundreds of miles off Florida's East Coast. The long-range missile was guided by its self-contained iner tial autonavigation system, which the Air Force said was foolproof against radar jamming. The Stralofortress left Eglin for the test, carried out under direc tion of the Air Research and De velopment Command.
