Inquiries to the county court arc of no avail, however, because the court has no authority to fill the position. District Attorney Arthur Beddoe informed the court that Governor Hatfield must name a replacement. Those who inquired about the position were Mrs. Marguerite F Harris, Mrs. Marjorie Stum baugh and a Mr. Walker, all of Crescent. The original settlement at St Paul, Minnesota, was called Inni- jiska.
